Alright, I've just done an exhaustive search on the forums and can't seem to find any threads detailing the noise I'm experiencing.
I have a 2003 Manual P5. When I am moving in reverse there is an intermittent grinding noise. IT IS NOT THE STRAIGHT CUT GEAR NOISE. I know that reverse gear sounds like a wind up toy in most cars, Proteges included...but I repeat, I am not talking about the straight cut gear noise. This is a noise on top of that, that comes in and out and sounds somewhat similar but more grindy.
This noise is driving me absolutely insane. (smash)
My car has 9300 miles on it, and is still under warranty, so I'm gonna have a dealer check it out. I'm afraid they'll find a way around fixing it, so if anybody has had it diagnosed before I want to know what is causing it.
