I used a variety of tools. One being a dremel (to finely cut the rough cuts), a hole saw bit, and drill bits.
I started poking my noise around on the Retrofit Source's website
I'm really torn between making my own or getting wheels, **** me. lol. Matt! Why couldn't of you just let me keep on dreaming on $1000 headlights instead of showing me they can be self made for a third of the price?!?!?
so the high beam doesn't need warmup time?
Nice, did you just keep the stock high beams? or did you use something else? im sorry its late and i read it but dont remember what you used. BTW sick ass job.
I take it you used a H7 DDM kit not H4 right? I like your idea, but I wondering since you get get regular protege lights cheap if that would be a better application for a single projector. Also which wire activates the high beam on the high beam wiring harness. I think you did not only a awesome and slick install, but you did it for a reasonable price.
Right, what I meant for hook-up in the question is how the stock light harness hooks to your ballast, did you get a H7 DDM kit (which adapts to the stock harness)? I saw in the earlier post how you used an adapter for the proper HID blubs to the ballast and was unsure from ballast to wire harness.
So you wired up an adapter from the projector to the stock high beam harness, where did you get the parts for the high adapter and what all did you need?
Do you know of a larger projector that would work with the standard protege headlight? Or is the size limited by the GTI shroud?
