P5 HID retrofit project completed

I used a variety of tools. One being a dremel (to finely cut the rough cuts), a hole saw bit, and drill bits.

Dude, thats awesome that you are able to use the stock aiming bolts! If I could figure out how to fab up a cover of some kind for the reflector around the projector, I seriously might do this.

I think when I get new lenses I might spray the reflector area with NiteShade. There was member on the HID board I'm on who did that and it looked good. This would minimize reflections.

Do you have the sedan or P5 lights? It almost looks like you have the P5 lights, which is surprising.

Yup, p5 lights, I converted them, I think they're way more sexy than the sedan lights :)

i think i would just paint the reflector. lol it almost looks like you headlights have pupils with it unpainted. but then again the texture would be strange with the rectangular surface not being utilized. i would try to come up with something to fill in both old domes to make it look like it wasnt retrofit but was a stock option or aftermarket piece. idk if bondo would get ****** up if you tried it inside there because of the heat, but if you filled it all in and just had the projector, i would buy a set.

i know but its not like he went out of his way to get p5 lights. he just used what he had.

My bimmer has bi-xenon's, the inner lights are still used for "flash to pass" and for DRL
if enabled, luckily the previous owner turned that feature off when they bought it...

I started poking my noise around on the Retrofit Source's website

I'm really torn between making my own or getting wheels, **** me. lol. Matt! Why couldn't of you just let me keep on dreaming on $1000 headlights instead of showing me they can be self made for a third of the price?!?!?

Because then what would I be here for? (guitar)

I'm here to make people realize that they aren't as expensive as everyone thought. And personally if I had to do it all over again, I would do the retrofit in the sedan lights since the projector I chose is bi-xenon (low and high beam).

I know, I'm gonna go with the TSX projectors. My girl was drooling over em so I guess thatts my next project. lol.

I would just be weary of the size of them. The FX-R's are honestly the best bet for these because they fit in the low beam area of the P5 lights perfectly, and are better than the TSX's for the money. Plus with the shroud it was a VERY tight fit but it works perfectly.

Also, if you email Retrofit Source and tell them Matt with the Protege5 sent you, they will add a 5% discount code that you can use upon checkout.

And BTW, the more you buy the more you save, ask them about combo deals and tell them you're on HID Planet for an even bigger discount. If you want to know more info Dub you can chat with me on AIM if you want.
