hi guys i have a big big question....my engine have only 20k km....turbo, engine, water pump, timming belt...all is new from the dealer(complete engine)...so my big question is...this winter i forge the engine for plus nitrous..can i take only the piston. conecting rod, head gasket and stud for the head.?.can i take a stock bore or is preferable to take a piston with a overbore.?.(test compression is very well).i go whit wiseco and k1 rod..good combo? i stand a reply everybody.....thank ben

Is it a reman engine that you have? If thats the case- I wouldn't go stock bore pistons as it may have already been overbored when it was rebuilt. The only way to know is tear it down and measure whats in there.

I have the CP pistons and K1 rods. I went with the .020 overbore.. you may as well since you have the engine apart anyway.

I guess he is wanting to know what is preferred.. if you can just do a stock bore and go forged, or if it's better to go .020 overbore.

Edited.. but he's wanting Nitrous.. I wouldn't know about that as far as the need to overbore (dunno)

don't overbore it unless it is necessary

tear the block apart and take it to a machine shop to get everything measured and MAKE SURE your cylinders are not warped or misshapen...if they are not then just resleeve it and stick with factory bore

only overbore it if you need to because resleeving won't put it back in spec

the closer your pistons are together, the less surface area the head gasket has to seal between each cylinder...which is fine for low boost, but anything that boosts the compression like high boost could run into problems

that being said many members here run overbore at high boost and don't run into problems, but my general state of mind is if it isn't broken don't fix it

lol thats right done overbore unless you have to. because if you overbore it and somthing goes wrong and you score your walls or somthing you cant over bore it again.

lol yeah i dont even know why people think that they can slap on a big turbo and some NOSSSSS!!!! and run a 8 second 1/4 mile. cause there are so many threads here in the past few weeks that have popped up saying that they want to put on a bigger turbo with no supporting mods. when i first joined this community there were no body that was wanting to do dumb mods, but i guess the msp is getting cheeper and younger people can afford them, i am only 19 however i understand what my car is and i understand that if you treat it like s*** (that is anything for that matter) it will break down on you.
