Overboosting issues? Im i taking it too far?

Not calling you stupid, but that thought is stupid.

A BOV/BPV is simply there to keep the turbo spinning the right way when the throttle plate is closed.

Overboost is caused by a turbo that is overspinning during WOT or possibly partial throttle applications.

A BOV or BPV is a personal preferance (sp)............ Plain and simple. Now if you are boosting to a point to where the stock valve can't hold the pressure , then yes an upgrade is needed, but just because of the upgrades, doesn't mean you should be running more boost. you may see more boost spikes, but not more overall boost. Computer still commands to see X amount of psi, the turbo reacts faster and the computer has a momment where it plays catch up, then it should MAINTAIN that boost pressure.

If its not then you have a boost control issue. Boost Spikes on the other hand are different. They too can also harm the engine, if not controlled.

if you want the sound and the flash by all means buy one, but is it required? NO!

Also you should run your setup as a Bypass not VTA, but if you don't mind the stumble here and there, and possible little back fire in the exhasut, then run it VTA. its true you are dumping metered air, but once you go WOT again the MAF doesn't care, it just measures the air going IN.

of course, jsut like intake and exhaust is preference... i run vta sometimes, i dont really like the stumbles and s***, it gets really annoying. bypass is on most of the time and untill i get tuning solution i wont run vta 100%
