Options after Blown Turbo

Well i blew my turbo up at 71,500 miles. I have only had the car for 9000 miles and the car apears to be never tampered with. So i am kind of disappointed in thins happening. Im wondering what other vehicle i can get a turbo off of that will work with the factory ecu and tune. i know the nissan s13 used a t25 but is it the same size? Im just weighing my options on what i can do right now and need some help. I presently have the original turbo b eing looked at and im looking at $200-400 to rebuild it. But if there are other options i would like to check them out. thanks.
 
Not too many options out there. Keep in mind that you also have to take the wastegate actuator, location and it's arm placement in consideration. I would simply rebuild it, if they can, and move on. If not, you can always get a GT28RS - minor adjustments and you're on your way. The only problem with that, is any gt25-28rs is going to be expensive. You can buy other turbos all day long, but none that are an exact fit and that the ECU will "accept" as well.
 
just out of curiousity, why cant a regular t25 or t28 from an sr20det work? the turbos look identical besides the fact that they are flanged on the inlet and outlet. but i can fab up some flanges no problem.
 
yea i knwo i have one in my garage and if i wasnt sending my msp turbo out today id swap the housings and tell you if it would work or not im pretty sure it will tho
 
Question ! Is the compressor housing on the t25 the same as the gt2554(MSP). I dont think it is a simple swap. On the msp it is a double bearing housing while the regular t25 is a wet float bearing. Am I wrong?
 
I'm extremely interested in this... Seeing as my turbo went a lil while ago, and I ordered in a new t25 bb(dual ball bearing - from importperfomanceparts.net) Didn't realize that the flanges were going to be all fubar'd; so, I'm trying to figure out what to do. If the compressor housings can be swapped, I'd love for someone to link up a possible how to. Otherwise i'm going to return this t25 and just rebuild it as well. Anyone know any good places to source a rebuild kit?

looks like it could be close.
 
you could get mpinick to rebuild your stocker, everyone seems to be very happy with his rebuilds, even with just the "stage1" package he does.
