so im looking to put an amp in my car pretty soon. ive got some kicker front and rear speakers (cant remember the model exactly) and a kenwood excelon kdc-x693 headunit. im not looking for the most amazing amp in the world but something that could give some good power to my speakers. also around $200 or less would be nice.

thanks for your answers!

Lots of questions:

What model speakers do you have?
Does that $200 include labor and all wiring?
Do you care about buying used or not from authorized retailers?
Do you want to stick with kicker?

model of amp is not important.
i wouldnt mind going used if i knew it was in good condition.
i would do all the wiring and that price of around 200 doesnt include the wires.
and i will check in the morning for the model of speakers. boxes are in the attic

just make sure what ever amp you choose it IS MADE FOR SPEAKERS and not a sub amp alpine m 500 makes a very clean amp cheap and they last forever good luck

You need to know what your speakers are rated at. look for their RMS rating, the peak rating is meaningless.

You'll want an amp that does around the RMS that you need. Again, with the amp, only use the RMS rating, not peak rating.

EA4100 eclipse is a pretty good amp. Also sundown's SAX.50 or SAX.100 are both good 4ch amps.

Check crutchfield.com. They have a outlet section for open box and scratch and dent items. Sometimes they'll just have overstock that they get rid of cheap. Free shipping too. I live in hawaii so that's a big deal for me.

An older used Orion 600.4(4 channel amp) could be had for a little over $100 or so. Or you could probably find a used Arc Audio FD4150, another 4 channel. I had that amp for a few months, and it powered a set mids and tweets nicely for me. The used Arc would be closer to $200, most likely.

i got amp for sale i was running on my alpine type r. ..PM me

this amp is actually good to power your mids LMK

I have a set of old a** Soundstream Reference 25x4 amps in my car now. They sound absolutley awesome for being from the early 90's. If you can find anything made by Soundstream it will be great.

+1 Truth.

I've got an old Soundstream D100II powering my tweeters, and it's done a great job. Small amp, great quality, really clean sound.
