Opinion on "Turboing" an Auto (non-sport)

lol you guys are funny, i love making fun of P5's theyre like my cars little short brother, it takes a lot of good hard work and solid turbo upgrading to beat a stock msp with an automatic transmission in your P5, its just dangerous to boost over 5 psi... i'm sorry to all you guys, I know you love your P5's but you cant deny the truth, even if you did beat my stock protege, all i'd have to do is set it at 8 psi and unbolt my midpipe and it would be all over anyway...

oh no man, i'll take you. and its not really that dangerous to boost over 5psi. The thing won't explode on boost. Just very very slowly start to break itself. I went 2 years boosting at the upper end of 8psi and 6psi for a year before that. Tranny still worked when i took it out.

dude i was talking about automatic p5's bro, not manuel tranny, you have the same engine but with better turbo components, i would have wooped your ass though when i had my mods on my car GHL Turboback, Hiboost FMIC, Intake Manifold, Injen, Unichip, at 12 psi, lol so yeah you agree with me, I'd kick your ass if you had the auto tranny still

Whatever guys, he's just jealous cause our P5's look so much better than his MSP. Sure his is faster, but it came that way from factory... "Ooh look at me I can afford a fast car." Great for him, but I don't have any money (paying $30k for college a year). So I have to make my car faster myself, a little bit at a time, but it's still so much more satisfying when I do it myself. An the circumstances at the time I bought the car did not allow me to get a manual so I have to deal with what I have. I'll eventually make my car faster than his and when I do, you know it'll feel awesome.

p5 engines have been known to blow, too.

Why'd you have to sell all those mods? Sounds to me like you played with fire and got burned...

All I'm saying is that a turbo fs-de has a much better chance of blowing than a n/a auto fs-de. LMK when your engine blows and we'll get a meet together to race you with our slow but stylin' hatchbacks.
