Ok, SOMEBODY give me a hint with these Spool springs ...

hi, its official

I have a spool drop in the front

and a SPOOL LIFT KIT in the rear.

awful

and I had a stock MSP parked next to it. STOCK MSP is an inch or MORE lower than the new spools in the back.

im goin back to the shop asap to see if they will put my old rears back in, this little fiasco is really gonna be more expensive than it should be....

Mine will be coming out within the next week or two. This is crap. They haven't settled even 1/8 of an inch in these last few days. Hopefully I'll be able to make some money off these somehow. Maybe sell them to someone that wants to chop off about an inch of the coil...

someone needs to call terry.

theres no way this is how the product was designed

and btw, these new springs arent supposed to need to settle at all

What bugs me is that I purchased these because of the picture with the yellow MP3 at the gas station. That is what I thought I was buying. What went wrong?

This sucks guys. I have them on my MP3 and like them, but I was also expecting what is shown on his website. No wheel gap front or back, even drop. My front is PERFECT, my rear is definitely lower, but not as low as the picture. I still like it though. Oh well.

I wonder how the old style SPOOLs (the ones I have) would do on the MSP... The ones before the redesign. Have you contacted Terry about this? Or are you through with the SPOOLs? :)

Chris

i havent contacted him.

at this point it has cost me too much buying the springs, having them installed twice and my car aligned twice, so even if he sends me GOOD rear springs I wouldnt want to spend the money to have them put on until next spring at the earliest......

ill just wait until other ppl put their 2nd batch of rear springs on and call him

Mine are coming out all together next weekend. I'm not chopping anything, and I'm not waiting 5 more weeks for another "right" set. I don't care anymore. I'm tired of my car being "raked". It looks gay, and I'm embarrassed to walk up to it in parking lots now. I feel like one of those little ricer boys with 17's on the rears and stocks up front. Like I couldn't afford a full set of springs, so I just lowered the front, and I'll buy the rears when I have more money come in.[/rant]

Huh, I'm kinda nervous now spending $$ to put mine on my P5 (no tools or space to do it myself). I'm going to email Terry to see what he says...

From what I've read, it seems just the MSP owners are having problems. So I wonder if it has to do with the suspension design of the MSP. Have any non-MSP people put these new springs on yet?

love the icon........and you might wanna try MSP rears. it looks better than spool rears, still a little gap, but I can deal with it.

plus you wont have any possible hassle about your modified suspension when you got o get your clunk fixed since the rear suspension will be stock

but wait, ur in CA, you probably dont have a clunk

ya bastid

seems like it is an MSP issue. even though my P5 sits a little higher in the back, it is not that bad. eventually i guess it will settle but I think I will probably cut them before they have a chance:D i resized a pic to see if you can tell better. later:)

yours arent from this newest batch slamd, this enwest batch is the one that seems ot have these problems......and according to terry the new design was supposed to be "pre-settled"

i assumed that the place that made the springs had some kind of computer setting to make the springs. i got mine from the batch right before the bad ones came out and no one has those on MSPs'. Do you think the rear struts are just too stiff on your cars?? I know when I put coilovers on my car I was able to go at least 2 inches lower than an orange MSP on here with coilovers?? It is a shame they are not working out for you guys, they are bad ass and have improved my handling tremendously, with little sacrifice to the ride quality. And as far as the "pre-settled".....why wouldn't they have been making those all along? Makes no sense to make a spring that has to settle? Anyway, sorry you guys are having to fuss with these. Maybe it will all get worked out. Later:D

tonkabui.....i did not cut my springs:)

so has anyone with an MSP seen any drop with these rear springs after they have had some time to settle? I still havent installed mine yet, and if they havent, does any non-msp ers want them?
200 shipped, brand new
