I asked this question in other area's but possibly they were not the correct subject blog heading.
Anyway if you've seen it thats why -No answer yet -

I have a 2010 Mazda-3 GT Hatchback 2.5 liter engine ( non-turbo of course ) and the owners Manual says with a filter and oil change the replacment amount is 5.3 US Quarts . The tech at my dealer said he puts 5.5 - he said 5 1/2 quarts and that was poured from the bottles . Now I know from experience when you pop a few quarts and pour them quickly into a funnel and go to the next theres a residual thats left ...as much as 1/20th of a quart . He did it quickly too.
After I inspected the remaining 6th quart he used 4.5/10ths so less than 1/2 . so according to the manual I see it as being over 1.5/10th's of a quart - I just wonder if this is enough top do any damage or if I should siphon off the 2-3 ounces extra that I percieve is in the crankcase??? Now I say percieve because reading the dipstick is something I thought I perfected yet it baffles me daily with different reads . Really pisses me off that Mazda can't provide you with a damn dipstick that does what it;'s intended to . Its a piece of JUNK and proabably because it says FOMOCO on the back meaning that it was Fords design --yeah made in Japan but still Fords possible design...designed to blow engines .
Anybody can lend some credable info please- Thanx -

Yea dont worry about it, unless your overfilling a significant amount you wont see any problems
