Ok here the problem, my 3rd spark plug form the left to right was broken and there was oil on the spark plug and spark plug hole. The metal tip broke off and felll inside, I tried using a magnitic stick to get it out but there is nothing inside, but I can here something bouncing inside when the engine is running. Then the noise dissapered and the vaccum is now low (10-14) normaly it's 22-25 and that causes the rpm to drop to 300rpm. I checked the engine bay and there looks like some exhaust gas is coming from the manifold, could it be cracked? THere is also oil leaking from my valve cover gasket. What dou you guys think my be causing the low vaccum (besides the vaccum hoses).

Did you play around at high RPM before this happened?

The engine internals in the FS-DET are not the strongest one (Mazda never designed it to be turbocharged)
Still no expert, but the MSP has taught me a thing or two about engines. A broken tip on the spark plug is probably a stretched rod, but it might also be a piston skirt causing crank walk (the later happened to my cylinder 2 out of the blue http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=116333&d=1189760435 http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=116589&d=1190128236)

You probably need to remove your head to figure out what is wrong with your engine.

Was driving it normally when it all started. So what was the problem on yours?

The passenger side skirt on the piston broke off, probably a material defect. Would have been a warranty thing if I was still in the US when it happened, but since I just had imported the car back home I got nowhere with that. On a positive note I learned a lot about the engine. Mine didn't take out the spark plug but mixed fuel and oil causing blue exhaust and smoke coming from the turbo, probably would have killed that one too if I hadn't stopped imidiatly.

Based on just your first post I would think one of two things has happened. Either your VTCS / VICS screws have loosened and ended up in your #3 cylinder or your #3 rod is stretched. A compression test might tell you something but I still think it's off with the cylinder head to get you some information.

If i were to get a new motor. would it just be a regualr protege motor? Would there need to be some adjustments for the turbo?
