so im swapping everything over and the part where i screw the oil filter onto the new block is much smaller than what my old block has. Does anyone know how to swap that over as well?
There is a ~27mm nut (I think, don't quote me on the size) which holds the oil cooler to the block that you can use to remove it. Just undo it about half-way then tighten the old oil filter up against it and unscrew it out of the block by turning the wedged nut. The same method can be applied to installing/removing studs and such.
cool. the only problem is on the new donor motor the feed thing isnt long enough for me to do that.... i can barely get the nut on let alone the filter and the nut.
I don't remember having any problems on my MP3 when I did the swap.. you should be able to thread them both on at least enough to wedge the nut against the filter.
Just order a new one for a MSP? When I built my motor I couldent get it off the MSP block to swap over and messed up the threads. The MSP has a longer bolt where the fiter screws onto to add the space of the oil cooler.
