oil change

well it's about time i change my oil. but i was wondering what is the best synthetic oil out there? i'm thinking of using royal purple. Also what brand of oil filter should i get?
is there anything else i should know or get before i get started?

not sure if it matter but my car has 29k miles on it.

Lotsa folks like Pennzoil Platinum. That's what I use in the Speed. I only switched to synthetic on the Speed 'cause o' the turbo. All the rest get Pennzoil dead lizards. I use K&N filters on all my cars.

Pennzoil Platinum, but will be switching to 5w40 Rotella Syn oil with an Amsoil Filter

the cross reference with the spin on conversion filter..

Fram PH3614 and K&N HP-1002 users u would need Amsoil EAO57..

my filter that i want is alittle bigger then all of those filters i beleive it is the EAO15 Filter from Amsoil but im gonna double check with Qwik6 to make sure...

The filter I use is the K&N HP-2009 (same as the Mazda B-3000 truck).

I use only PP or M1 full synthetic, and a oem filter with the new rubber grommets and s***. I bought the oil filter wrench from mazda because the housing is plastic and I didnt wanna mess it up with an improper tool.

update:

checked with Qwik6.. the EAO-15 Amsoil fits as well as the EAO-57 if u have the oil filter conversion kit installed..happy motoring.
