***Texas Statewide Meet Thread***

Okay, here is the plan. The meet will take place starting Friday, June 23rd and go to Sunday June 25th. This will include all Mazda's. This is not Protege specific. All Mazda's are welcome and encouraged to come.
The drive will be a ~160 mile drive through the Hill Country, including roads such as Lime Creek Road. There will be a nice bit of twisties along with some nice flat straights to get up some cruising speed.

Take off after your dyno's

Address for Brodie Shopping Center:
5601 Brodie Ln # 300
Sunset Valley, TX 78745, US

Address for Jim's:
7101 W Highway 71 # 29
Austin, TX 78735, US

Salt Lick Menu: http://www.saltlickbbq.com/menu.htm

Dyno Information: Dyno's will be roughly $40 for 2 pulls with air and fuel readings. We might be able to get them for more around $30 depending on the mood of the guy that will be doing the dyno's. We need at least 8 people to dyno in order to get this price. It should take roughly 30 minutes per car for a dyno session.

Blazer Tag Information: http://www.blazertag.com/
Depending on the number of people going, we might get a group discount at Blazer Tag, taking game price down to $5.00 a game. We'll see.

*****DISCLAMER: I need a firm commitment on the number of people getting dyno'd. The group discount on Blazer Tag is not that much so don't feel obligated to commit to lazer tag, you don't have to play if you don't want. However, YOU WILL AFFECT PRICING if you commit to dyno and then back out a few days before. PLEASE only commit to dyno if you can!!*****

since when was this the "official" meet. im the moderator of texas so i say whats official.

im sorry im drunk right now but i agree with pirana with..."am i missing something?"

if it goes to austin, I am not in. Too many meets have been done in austin.

when DFW brings half the meet attendence, I think its clear where the meet should be...

what clubs/groups have you consulted before trying to setup this meet? it seems like you're a one man army.

well, even if we're gonna b**** about whether this is official or not, i'd like to be there, regardless of who else shows up. I don't know this far in advance what parts of it i could be there for, but the most interesting part is prolly the cruise. I won't be doing the dyno though.

BTW, the mazda3 guys who i think set this up in the first place (i could be wrong), are real cool cats.

Really guys, why jump on the guy. You Houston guys were supposed to have gotten something started by now but I guess you forgot that at the last meet we all decided you would do it. Or did you have one (STATEWIDE that is)and the rest of us missed it. The guy is just trying to get something started and so far has it planed well. I'm in if it goes down. I don't know about the dyno, I'll figure that out closer to the date.

Just because there are more of you in Dallas don't mean much. Besides the last State wide meet ya put on you kind of left the out-of-towners in the dark. Houston was supposed to be the next place and it was supposed to be a cruz to the beach.

well the 2 biggest guys that were good at rounding up people and making things happen were me and mike. mike sold his mp3 to the kid in dallas and im leaving the country in like 5 days. so...........(ughdance)

Sorry for stepping on any toes, I can take "official" out of the title. The meet WILL BE in Austin. The Mazda3's are going to this meet as well so it will not be held in another city. If you want to go, put your name on the list. If you don't want to go, start another thread for whinning about it not being held in your town.

Doesn't this make it difficult for people who are not from Austin since your route is mostly to the West of Austin. If the route started in Austin moving more to a central route such as between DFW and Austin and Houston.

Props for the well planned trip but since there is some time maybe that route could swing more Central. Anyone? Anyone? Hello??

Just a thought!

Let me see what I can do. Part of the reason we chose this route was because of certain roads we would be driving that are a lot of fun and also because of where we are stopping for lunch.

Yea what Bry said. The roads north of Austin are just plain and suck. If you go out to the west and hit the hills it's much more fun. That and the food out west is much better also.

Besides, we don't need no stinking dallas people. Austins mazda seen is picking up, and one day will take over the world (insert bad laughter now)!!!!!!

yeah, you can't have a cruise in austin and not hit up lime creek.

1) TheBryGuy - all 3 days and dyno
2) jmv - cruise and not sure what else, no dyno

its a bit early for me but...
i am always up for a NICE drive & will mostly likely join the 3s & who ever else shows up
thanks
