Official Perrin Thread

The canister muffler would look better if the car was lowered and the canister didn't stick out so much underneath, and was straight.

Sorry for being a noob, but what does that mean?(huh)
Basically a canister muffler - Magnaflow, Greddy SP-2, Apex WS all use canister style.

N1 style muffler looks more like Apex N1, JIC Bullet, HKS Hiper, 5 Zigen

Does anyone know if the FMIC uses the stock BPV, or does it get rid of it entirely like the HiBoost FMIC? I'd like to keep my BPV, which is the main reason I haven't gone to a FMIC yet, and iON's system just takes too long to ship and involves cutting which I don't want to do. Pann Auto's system uses the stock BPV, but I haven't heard many good things about that system. Any word on this system?

Is there a distinct difference in sound, or the way in which they muffle, or is the main difference just the looks of them?

N1 exhuast will definitely be louder. Canister's will be a lot quieter due to more packing.

Why would you want to keep your stock bov. If you are going to spend the $1300 for the perrin you would be just as wise getting a greddy or whatever. You dont really want your stock bov b/c of the compressor surge problem.

I'd be running a dual setup like I am running now with the stock BPV and GReddy BOV. I've gotten good results with it and no stalling at all.

And theres no way I'd spend $1300 on a FMIC, this was just to see so I can increase my options for future reference.

I'm looking into getting an aftermarket BPV, not sure which kind though, to improve my setup. I really like it, it's simple, and it works well. I don't ever have to worry about stalling, unless I drop it in neutral from redline while the spring is set as loose as possible.

So anyways, back to my original question, does it use the BPV in the stock location, similar to the Pann Auto FMIC?

Not sure about the perrin, but I know Juan at Hiboost will custom do that setup. On top of it, he deducts $50 or $60 from the total price since you won't be using the bov.

Hmmm...HiBoost is starting to look tempting now...

I'll still be running a GReddy Type S BOV with the BPV. I didn't know Juan would custom make it so I could use the BPV.

AHHH
I'm getting thread jacked!! (cryhard)
(jacked)

I will have a technician install the front bumper on our MSP and have FMIC photographed in more detail tomorrow.

As for BOV placement.....
Our current FMIC is designed for use with the stock BOV. Slight modification may be needed to use larger BOV's. I am going to take your comments to the next design meeting.
Thanks for the input guys.

Glad to here that you all like the exhaust.
It is full 3" stainless steal piping with a PERRIN Performance 3 1/2" in 3 1/2" out strait through muffler.

Forget pics, I'd just like the product shipped so I can buy it.

Britt

Sorry about the threadjack. Anyways, as long as there is room to weld on a BOV flange, I will be happy. Will the pipes be polished, or powdercoated? Please get some shots of the engine bay and the front bumper, as well as the IC core. I'd like to see how the endtanks are welded on and the route the IC pipes takes. Thanks.
