I need to scan some of my pics and send up here...

I have some shots from babylon when I went on a "site-seeing tour."

i missed that tour because we got shot at and kinda threw a wrench into the whole day.

hey i see your avatar text, do you happen to suffer from nightmares?

what unit, 1st CAV from Ft. Hood?

not sure, i think he's at a base near Beaumont, TX right now, maybe in LA, near the TX border though. It's been quite a chore keeping up with him due to boot camp setbacks and he was moved a few times already.

Every now and again I see the faces of the dead Marines bodies I had to process. It was rather creepy because we couldn't get their eyes to shut, so they were always looking at me with this wierd look on their faces.

It happens when I'm awake, or asleep. I'll see something and it'll remind of being over there and I go through the whole trip in a matter of seconds.

I tried to keep impersonal, but that gets tough when you have to go through everything in the guys wallet and see pictures of him with his family and everything.

But, oh well...Like Vonnegut always said, "So it goes."

As always Matthew, great pics and also a great way to tell a story without getting too much into the war everyone loves to hate. My brother was in the Army during the first Gulf War and he's a disabled vet because of it. He thinks the same as you do even with what he's been though. It's easier for people to say "bring our troops home so they dont get hurt or killed". Look at him, he was hurt and can't work for the rest of his life. But would he fight again if given the chance, hell yeah. I think most of us that got out from the military wanted to go back in after 9/11. But now that people are dying, everyone wants to take back what they said about kicking ass and taking names. The public hates to see blood shed, but they want justice, not just for us but for other peoples as well. Again, as we all know - freedom isnt free. You guys are doing a helluva great job over there. Thanks again for the pics Matthew and glad your safe man.

hoo-rah!

kymp5 i have a 61mb zip file which i can send to you overnight tonite if you want

I wanna see some more pics too! You have some really great shots there. I tip my hat to you and all who fought.

Hey thanks for the pics, my bro is in 4th ID and i worry about him a lot. His taskforce was the one that caught saddam. Thankyou for all you do for our country, words can hardly describe the graditude we owe our armed services. My father gave 23 years to the air force and now my brother is serving for the army. I will support ANY action by the united states and the soldiers that protect our great nation.
