** OFFICIAL 2010 mazda 3 pics **

I thought the 6 hatch was ugly and stupid while the wagon was good looking and functionally great.

The wagon in the picture I posted did look great, but the base model wagon was ugly and I didn't like it in lighter colors, I love the new 6 wagon which we might NEVER see in the states. But I think the 6 hatch is the best looking minus the SPEED.

And the 5-door Mazda3 hatch is often called a wagon, but it's two hot to be called a wagon.

And Mazda doesn't really follow the hatch, wagon rules... what would the Mazda5 be called? It's closer to a wagon then a van, because it's so small and only holds 6 people, and it's basically a 3 under the redesigned body so is the 5 a Mazda3 wagon?

It is a grocery getter :p

My bad, I opened a can of worms. It is not considered a Mazda3 wagon, although shares a lot of things (crucial factors to buy the ones I own)....

According to:

Insurance: Wagon
US EPA: Minivan (2008, and something else for the 06, some weird acronym)
Europe: Space Wagon or MPV
Asia: MPV or MAV (Multi Activity Vehicle)

In summary: we'll never know, LOL

OK, back on topic. Found this pic, with smaller wheels (16in?) and no fogs, looks interesting:

Thats really odd, but if the front is as jacked as the sedan... hmmm... I just really don't know if I like the new three!!!

Merged with the other 2010 Mazda3 thread.

I've never actually heard of a company releasing it's own spy photos, but that's what these supposedly are.

Looks like quite the wing on the back of the hatch.

It's actually somewhat common for manufacturers to release spy photos - it spurs up interest. These particular photos were taken as part of a press preview in Iceland, and these photos were released about a month ago when the journalists wrote their articles of the test drive.

The front of the 5-door is the same as the sedan. Rear taillight detail is different though. The 5-door's autoshow debut will be Dec. 3 at the Motor Show di Bologna.

Yay for the merge!

And I knew that the front would be the same... it was just getting to the point of me calling it ugly... in a 'nice' sort of way.

Peugeot in the front, Subaru Impreza in the rear, and we have a "new" car....
However the interior looks good

How come the sedan gets dual exhaust but not the hatch? Or is this a Euro version with one of the smaller engines?

It doesn't say 2.5 on the back like the sedan.

going to give (2thumbs) on the interior and overall but a big (notcool) to that front end, good lord.
Hatches rule as allways.

These 5-door images are Euro-spec, which does not get the 2.5l that N. America will get, hence the single exhaust. No need to feel sorry for Europe though, as they get a choice of 4 engines: 1.6l, 2.0l, 2.2l turbo diesel (low power), and 2.2l turbo diesel (high power).

N. America will also not get the headlight washers and rear sonar sensors as seen in these images.

Not sure i'm likeing the new interior..

You are in a very small minority with that opinion. The new interior is awesome, it's the best part of the car. Looks like the interior out of a $40k car.
