hey

i have no idea about this so i thought i'd ask. can alloy wheels be widened? i'm pretty sure they cant, but i dont know for sure. the reason i ask is that i'd love to widen the wheels to 7" (instead of the stock 6" on my P5) so i can fix 215/45/16 falken azenis tyres on it.

any info would be good.

oh i should add, has anyone put the 215/45/16 azenis tyres on the stock rims? how are they? how do they look/handle? got a pic?

later

widened???i do not think it is possible, i mean, aren't rims forged, or something like that, how would you attach the extra metal, although, with money, ANYTHING is possible...good luck.

the STOCK OEM alloy wheels are CAST aluminum wheels....NO you can't widen them....

if they were STEEL wheels then YES you could.

Don't know about the factory alloys. But when I was in the Philippines a few years back, there was this one wheel shop that widened factory black "steelies" off of an AE86 Tureno. I have no idea how they did it, but it was pretty damn impressive.

yeah i didnt think they can because they are alloy...it was just a shot in the dark...would be great if i could, but oh well :(

i'll just have to consider buying new wheels....not what i wanted to do
