Will 18x8 wheels fit on the CX-30?

I just purchased a CX-30 Turbo and want to upgrade to Mazda M012 18x8 wheels. Will they fit? The Mazda parts guy said they won't and need 18x7.5 ...

Thanks for the advice.

I doubt there will be any issue fitting them. Mazda has a lot more than 0.5" extra clearance on these cars.

Please don't deduce wheel fitment down to nothing more than clearance and aesthetics.

Let's take a look at the chart here:

As you can see. the offset range for your car is 43-47, with a 7" wheel.

an 8" wheel with the same offset means your offset will be more than 10mm off. That's not recommended.

Unless you are planning to gain a cool 50hp, the extra width in wheel and tire is completely unnecessary. If you still want to do it, I would suggest selecting a wheel with a compensatory offset figure that brings thing in line with stock. 7" ET45 ---> 8" would be approx ET32, give or take 2, but you'd need to verify that it would clear your suspension components.

Yes they do fit just fine it only gives you a quarter inch added to each sides of the wheel. It's closer to everything when turning. For everyone reading this: Depending on the offset you go with everything from a 35 offset to almost a 48 works on this car. On an 8-in wide wheel you can do a 45 just fine. A 40 would bring it a little bit closer to the outside and sit flush. But we have fitments that have been proven to work up to 20 in Wheels in a 35 offset.

Mazda's factory wheels regardless of the size and width on all their SUVs/CUVs have a 45 offset. If you look up under the Hollander interchange manual at factory wheels examples CX-7 CX-9 CX 50 etc. you will see what I mean. The concerns people have or if they rub or not. But there are a few things to consider as well like centerline relative to axle when thinking about reliability and/or maintaining factory handling / ride comfort.

TLDR: yes they work, lots of stuff "works" don't listen to the haters.

It fits! Confirming that 18x8 ET+45 wheels with 235/50-18 does fit on the CX-30. The tires are close to the struts on the rear, but there is no rubbing.

It looks great I love that style I wheel. It's a abs strut dust cover attached to a mount built into the upper plate. You're main concern will be if you ever have a flat it may or may not scrub that plastic. It won't touch by removing it, but that exposes the bare shaft to dust and debris more than stock. However you may be able to find and aftermarket bag type dust boot if it's that important to you.

Personally I wouldn't be bothered by this at all (grain of salt). Good job on the wheel choice 💪🏽
