Obx header

installed my obx header last week, and i love it....the car sounds so mean with it on, here are some pics of it installed....right now i think i have an exhaust leak due to the fact that i only have one bolt on that attaches the header to the rest of the exhaust, so i think i might be getting some extra raspyness from that leak....installing it was easy took about an hour because i ran into issues with the second o2 sensor...basically it was sealed on the stock manifold and after several failed attempts in getting it off with several different tools, i just said F it and i plugged the hole with a screw....prior to me doing this i was getting the worst gas mileage that i had ever encountered with the car, and now i seem to be getting the best gas mileage i have seen with the car, go figure....anyway and now for your viewing pleasure the pictures.....

on a side note about the engine bay, it is hard to keep it looking clean when A.) it is an everyday driven car, and B.) you live in michigan during the winters

looking good...but give it a good cleaning before this next winter hits... I know what you mean...I live in Ontario...and my car is driven 12 months of the year.

Thread Jack in progress: CitizenPro...how "hot" do your nology wires get? (no pun intended) I have the same setup...but instead of a header I have the turbo and downpipe..and they get quite toasty. I'm thinking of trying to relocate everything.

glad to see that it went onto a better place, i like the obx header better, a little less noise at idle, a little less power, but the driving is a little more tolerable.....what did you paint valve cover with????? it looks friggen hott

You need to pick up the Nology Kit for the Mazdaspeed. They relocate the coils to the back of the engine, and not the front. I'm going to have to get the MSP set-up too, ill be turbo'd at the end of the year (rockon)

MSP Set-up:

I got the valvecover powdercoated silver along with the Intake piping, radiator brackets, and the battery tie-down. Should be getting the strut bar coated also.

Yeah, it makes the car sound hella nice at idle, sorry you didnt like it.

it wasn't that i didn't like it, like if i had to work early in the morning or something like that it was just kinda annoying......but other than that i loved it, i loved the way it sounds, and also i did a lot of high way driving, and i had to have my radio cranked up to about 24 to drown out the header, just because of going back and forth from school was a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive.....so you can imagine it kinda got annoying after about the 4th hour

Im going to dynamat the whole flooring of car......should help out.

yea i hear that, i don't have any cats or resonators, just straight pipe to an apexi n1 muffler.....it gets quite loud

Umm......to get the Valvevcover/brackets/tie-down/and intake powdercoated was like $115. To just get the valvecover coated is $60.
