the light is on all the time? when it does run ok is the light still on? because when my sensors went bad the code read "bank 1 sensor 1 voltage error", not that it was too lean/too rich. the fact that the sensor is reading too lean may just be that it is reading too lean, not because it is flawed.JDM Sam said:Yea bank 1 too lean. Now to install the new sensors, go catless with the CEL fix.
While on boost or off boost driving?linux said:Car ran great again this morning on the way to work, but is starting to show signs of returning to its former state.
Forgot about that. My B.Bigg Tim said:Dude, you knew I only had about a 20min tune.
New setup? What new setup?I changed to the new setup the same day I drove up there and never got a chance to tune it.
Har har har.MPNick said:Yes you are right Dana, you know all. After all you have been doing this for what almost 18 months now. So you have now learned all there is to know about tuning. Yes you have built an engine, hit 13s and used the AEM/ MPI and maybe others. So yes I am wrong you must know all there is to know.
When I ran my 13.8, it was on 94 octane. I also ran two 13.9s immediately before that, also on 94 octane. That was in early November. Get your facts straight.94 octane, not what you posted in another thread. You posted that you got 100 octane. This BS is not worth the time to go back and look it up.
OK, so when I said that we had alot of timing out and were never able to tune for the high boost because of the spark blow out why would that not count???????????? Dean has not be able to gain that much from the C116 yet, because we have not been back to the dyno. Why does it not work both ways?Kooldino said:Har I put in a gallon of that, ran 2 more runs, and did signifcantly WORSE than I did on my first two runs (probably because I was tuned for 94).
thats right...makes sense.JDM Sam said:Voltage reading on the sensor is dead its not even fluctuating on his OBD2 reader. Over 80K miles the sensors worn already. Think of it as a tune up part. It's not that expensive if you get the universal one and splice it in. It runs like ass in WOT. The CEL is caused by faulty o2 and/or cat problem. With the CEL on it puts the ecu in limp mode by pulling timing & dumping fuel on the stock injectors and also pulling fuel b/c it senses extra fuel coming from the AUX injectors.
How much boost??? thats importantCaptain KRM P5 said:Point is, even with the 02 sensors inoperable, my car never ran lean under boost, it boosted like it always had been.
perhaps you posted this before hand, but what proof do you have that your sensor(s) are faulty?

Mine goes all the way rich on mid rpms and near 12.8:1 on WOT high rpms @ 10+psi
Well when you are in boost, your voltage level should be steady showing you rich if you have a voltage clamp. Mine was accually not sweeping, or sweeping slowly at idle, and while driving OUT of boost.igdrasil said:thats right...makes sense.
My O2 sensor isnt fluctuating anymore when on boost.
This is great news!!LinuxRacr said:Well tonight the 1st O2 sensor got installed. I moved the Wideband downstream to where the secondary O2 sensor used to be, and took out the secondary O2 sensor till tomorrow when my exhaust will be re-done, and new O2 bung welded in. Immediately I noticed a smoother car with no bucking! The drive home was smooth. One thing I did notice is that the O2 sensor voltage/Air-fuel sweep is definitely a lot faster like it should be. Of course the CEL came back eventually, and I am back in limp mode with the stumble every now and then. This should be taken care of today. On the way back home, I got caught with my pants down.... A couple of cars wanted to race me, and did so. I did poorly when I should have owned them. Can't wait to get the O2 sensor issues done, and re-tune. (evil)
That must be some real strong rust.RyanJayG said:yeah, the anti-foulers trick does work well.. I did it for a coworker whos Blazer's Cat fell off due to rust. we made a test pipe, and I did the anti-fouler trick on it. he had a CEL come back one time since, but its pretty rare... besides a ECU reset once a year (if not more often) is good anyways.
About ducking time. Now get that dog tuned once and for all. What about getting your injectors cleaned?LinuxRacr said:Well tonight the 1st O2 sensor got installed. I recommended that to him already.MPNick said:About ducking time. Now get that dog tuned once and for all. What about getting your injectors cleaned?
