i've consistently been a fan of making huge loads of go without forced induction (including nitrous). after reviewing this section, you guys seem to get a lot more support going all motor than i do over at any of the sentra boards. so i figured i would share my upcoming motor build.
AEBS sleeved block
93mm 11:1 C/R pistons
Stock crank
Pauter rods
Custom ground cams (bout 270's, around .5 lift)
Custom springs
Polk Performance race port head
1mm oversized Inconel valves
Polk Performance sheet-metal intake manifold
AEBS header
3" mandrel bent exhaust
TEC III stand alone
Hotshot or custom cold air intake
BS removal kit
Lightened pulleys
JWT clutch and flywheel
This will yield a 2.7 liter that will rev to around 7000rpm, maybe slightly higher. My current setup has been deemed not fun enough, so i decided to go ahead and invest in something slightly more....awesome. as it stands now, my best trap speed is 103.66, but it just isnt enough. albeit far from a drag car, it's decent enough to lay the smack on unsuspecting ricers.
ok, enough about that. this will not be by any means a drag car, and i will probably never ever build one. this will be purely for road racing. with the build listed above, we are targeting 250-260whp with a torque band bigger than fat albert. as many of you know, peak numbers are garbage. the QR25 has been blessed with a good amount of torque from the factory, and the only other option to this build was a destroke... i like torque, damnit. hilariously enough, this is being built by a nissan regular, travis from forced induction racing (ironic, i know).
as for the rest of the car, there's a target weight of 2500 with driver, JIC FLT-A2 coilovers with approximately 850-865lb springs used at all 4 corners. all nismo sway bars and the lower tie bar will be used, along with solid 98 durometer engine mounts. i''l be keeping the buddy club p-1's and running 235/40/17 a032-r's with about 2 degrees of negative camber and some toe in at the front, and a rear beam bend (sets toe to 0). i'll more than likely end up using a 7-9 gal fuel cell, for weight's sake.
this hits the wallet hard, but damnit, i enjoy it. feel free to ask any questions, and i'll do my best to have them answered asap.
