Noisy ES 2.0 engine!?

My engine seems to be progressively getting louder. Its most noticeable at idle. Its sounds like the chuging sound of a diesel car. Not exactly that bad, but I'm not sure how to explain the sound. Not only is the sound irritating, but it makes my car sound kinda bad. And also I'm not sure if it means something is wrong with it. Would there be any replacements as for spark plugs, etc that could fix this...? I have about 64,000 miles on it and its an 02

Possible exhaust leak? Only at idle, or when you are driving it also gets louder as the rpms rise?

best bet is mechanics stethoscope or some professional diagnosis - could be anything from spun bearing to lifter tick etc etc

I have a stock exhaust. The only engine work is a CAI...

lol ive got the c/s too yeah i guess it does sound like that, but hey is it just a ticking sound? cause mine has always done that
