hey guys, need some help. i took off my egr valve yesterday to clean it bc i had a CEL. when i went to take off the inlet pipe it wasn't attached and the vacuum line to the solenoid was broke off the solenoid. i replaced the solenoid and hooked everything back up and now my boost gauge isn't reading any boost. the car is running smoother than before i cleaned the egr and had no inlet pipe attached. but doesn't feel like i have boost and the gauge is telling my i have none. anybody have any ideas?

p.s the car is off i hear a high pitched chirp coming from the engine somewhere every once in a while. i dont know if that is significant.

i sometimes hear a similar noise from the engine area when its off. Not sure exactly how to help. Maybe you should take it to mazda. What mods do you have? Does it feel slower. With no boost at all, my guess would be that it would be reallllllyyyyy slow. Like a regular MZ3, but I cant be sure exactly

i dont have any mods. its stock. feels slow at times. but other times it spins the wheels at high rpms. i also have a good amount of white smoke coming from the tail pipe

White, or black? And when is the smoke around? Only on startup? (that is normal). White smoke on a warmed engine at WOT is generally not good.

As far as the boost goes, first check your vacuum lines to make sure the gauge is still hooked up. Also make sure you don't have the vacuum lines at the boost control solenoid hooked up backwards. Check all the connections in that area. If that doesn't fix it, take the turbo inlet off and see if you can spin the compressor wheel of the turbo easily. If I read that correctly, your turbo inlet came off at some point, so you may have sucked in some debris. I doubt that, but other than that I don't know what to tell you. Check all of your clamps again, too.

thanks for the input. im thinking it may be a gauge problem. the car is running smooth and seems like it has boost. the white smoke it on start up. the line on solenoid are hooked up properly because i took a picture of the remaining line that was hooked up to the original solenoid so i would remember. i will double check vac lines and try to spin the compressor wheel of the turbo. thanks
