Nice RED Mazdaspeed6!!!

the rims and antenna are easily changeable. it needs a 2" shorty antenna and some hyperblack BBS RGR's

I couldn't agree more. love the car as a whole... I'd probably even buy one if it wasn't for those god awful wheels. wtf mazda? Also, what's up with the antenae on the back? the msp, which is clearly a far lesser car, has an integrated radio antenae in the rear window while this car still has one of those doofy VW style deals... Between that and the fugly wheels, dealbreaker for sure.

I think theres alot more besides the wheels and the antenae that would keep you from buy this car. Those are cheap to change out.
Now the real deal breaker should be the top mounted intercooler! You'd either have to get a new hood (cheap way) or change it to a front mount (very expencive way) to get any real performance out of it. I bet with a frount mount and a bigger intercooler it wouldn't be hard to make 300hp.

While it may be "cheap" (at least, in your eyes) to replace the wheels and antenae... that's A) when buying a $30k car, too much of a hassle and B) when buying a $30k car, too freakin expensive! I mean, while it's true you can just get different wheels... after spending that much dough on the car, not many of us would have the money!

it doesnt matter what car you buy, people always want to change their wheels. evo's and STI's are $30k cars, but people swap their wheels out all the time. imo, ugly wheels and a dildo antenna are not a 'deal breaker.' those are items that are easily changed.

I mildly disagree. If I've got the dough to buy a 40k beamer, for example, but am swayed at the last minute to get an STi, Evo or the upcoming MS6, then you're right, as a buyer I'd be inclined to buy a new set of wheels if I wasn't diggin the stocks. (and for the record, 99% of the Evos and STIs I see on the road have stock wheels) In addition to the point I'm about to make, the reason for this is because these wheels, unlike the MS6 version, are actually pretty sweet. I mean... BBS???? Enkei???

On to my second point... If I'm not the guy who's in the market for a more expensive car and instead, has to tighten the belt in order to get one of these... (which I think represents a good % of the buyers out there... we're enthusiasts and we want the best/fastest car we can afford... which usually means a car somewhat above our means) In this situation, we're not exactly prepared to shell out another... I don't know, $2-4 grand for a nice set of wheels. The antenae... I suppose... is irelevant. That said, it's pretty weak of mazda not to put the same technology into this car that they did into a car more than 1/3 less in price. (MSP) Though the only time I put on the radio is for AM sports talk, (sirius & mp3 > radio) I'd still think twice about a car with a doofy antenae like this one. It's not like you can just go to pep boys and buy a kit that will integrate the antenae into the rear window. The best you can do is get a shorter version of it... which still sucks. I'm a fan of clean lines on a car and to me, an antenae (sort've like a front license plate) ruins the look.

hey, i'm down for picking one up if they knock 10k off the sticker... that interior looks hella nice. And it would be great for nebraska winters.

Rob. - I wasnt aware that dealers allready had these??? Where have you seen them?

I've seen them here in Hawaii. My friend works at the dealer and called me when it came in. I took it for "test" ride. I must say it drives rather nicely. Those rims gotta go though.

yeah, wheels don't look all that hot.... they kind of look like big snow flakes to me.

nice car even if the wheels aren't great. It's sweet that it's AWD...no turbocharger though?

yes there is, its a turbo charged direct injection 2.3 liter four cylinder based off the 6i/3s motor

it is turbocharged... it's just hidden all the way underneath the plastic. the intercooler is on top of the engine and is fed by scoops on the underside of the hood. the turbocharger is made by Hitachi.

Well thats awesome, so it could actually compete with EVOs and STIs. 3s seem to respond well to boost, too, so I assume it does too.

That car looks familiar. I've seen one up close at Mazfest. In fact it filled my mirrors as Randy Pobst closely followed me through some of the corners at Buttonwillow.
