Nice RED Mazdaspeed6!!!

I mildly disagree. If I've got the dough to buy a 40k beamer, for example, but am swayed at the last minute to get an STi, Evo or the upcoming MS6, then you're right, as a buyer I'd be inclined to buy a new set of wheels if I wasn't diggin the stocks. (and for the record, 99% of the Evos and STIs I see on the road have stock wheels) In addition to the point I'm about to make, the reason for this is because these wheels, unlike the MS6 version, are actually pretty sweet. I mean... BBS???? Enkei???

On to my second point... If I'm not the guy who's in the market for a more expensive car and instead, has to tighten the belt in order to get one of these... (which I think represents a good % of the buyers out there... we're enthusiasts and we want the best/fastest car we can afford... which usually means a car somewhat above our means) In this situation, we're not exactly prepared to shell out another... I don't know, $2-4 grand for a nice set of wheels. The antenae... I suppose... is irelevant. That said, it's pretty weak of mazda not to put the same technology into this car that they did into a car more than 1/3 less in price. (MSP) Though the only time I put on the radio is for AM sports talk, (sirius & mp3 > radio) I'd still think twice about a car with a doofy antenae like this one. It's not like you can just go to pep boys and buy a kit that will integrate the antenae into the rear window. The best you can do is get a shorter version of it... which still sucks. I'm a fan of clean lines on a car and to me, an antenae (sort've like a front license plate) ruins the look.

I get what your saying, I wouldn't be able to just go out and replace the wheels. But I could save up. But then again for 30k you shouldn't have to right? Still it does look nice. Every time I see a car I like I have to remember I have a yr left on this one and a house is more important! Damn priorities

Mazda of Bedford (Cleve, OH) said the hold up on the release is the transmission/differential gearing. The US market will have different gearing than other countries. They were talking about a Nov 05 release. Hawaii has em' in the showroom? I wont call BS but PROVE IT somehow. The original hold up (I had heard) was due to US gasoline could not support DISI. I haven't heard anything more about this. Anyone know? Was this really an issue? When they drop 10 G's, I will have one (ugly rims or not)!

only if I had a digital camera. I'd waltz right down the road to the dealer and take some pics.

Nice pics...I'm looking forward to see MS6 threads/posts start popping up once they finally get into the showrooms and members start unleashing the factory furry under the hood ;)

Well thats awesome, so it could actually compete with EVOs and STIs. 3s seem to respond well to boost, too, so I assume it does too.
Its not gonna compete with teh evo or teh STI. it wont even hold a candle to my Legacy GT. Face it. its another slow mazda production car

i was at the mazda dealer the other day and as i was leaving i saw a 6 with those wheels. i didn't stop to check it out, so maybe the 06s come with those wheels, but it caught my eye enough that i saw the wheels and thought it strange

Can the Hawaii peeps get the gear ratios so we will have a comparison when the cars get down to the lower 48? Any JDM peeps have access to the non-US gear ratios?

(poke)

that has much more aftermarket and tuning potential than an evo, sti, or even a legacy gt. what we get here in the states are pale comparisons to the actual cars you can get in japan, or europe, or even australia. but once we receive them, we have such potential to untap. so much that we can do, and your cars are already tuned when they reach here damn near to the max of their potential, causing you to need more expensive turbo upgrades and such. so you start more expensive, your mods are more expensive, and the gains you get are minimal. ours are far less expensive, with mods to be just as fast as you we are still under your sticker price, and with the rest of the money we save, we are faster. dont be a douche

perhaps more than the legacy GT, but more aftermarket potential than an EVO or STI ????

I doubt it...It's not a competing car with an EVO or STI

THe Legacy GT however...... with a little tuning the MS6 should smoke it....that 2.3L is capable of more power.....ask Juan...he's dyno'd at 375 at the wheels.....and that is just straight line...I'm guessing the 6 corners like a motherf***er, just like the other mazdaspeed models

yeah, agreed. i think the Mazdaspeed6 will have a small following. it's won't even be produced in high numbers like the EVO/WRX/STI, so aftermarket support will be to left up to the small number of vendors out there. it's a business, so they look in terms of numbers. it's not like there are 200,000 of them being produced and out there on the road (like Civics).

i wasnt just refering to the ms6, more of a mazdas in general thing

Yea,I agree the MazdaSpeed 6,is nowhere near the level of the Evo or STI.The MS6 or the the 6 in general is too much of sedan that has semi sporty characteristics that would keep it on the level of a "sports sedan" but in reality the true sports sedan would be the Evo and the STI since they are cars that are basically street legal versions of the WRC race cars.A better comparison for the MS6 would be the Altima SE-R or a Accord Euro R(Type R)

sorry, still laughing.... the LGT is the 2.5l engine same as the STI, same crank, same forged internals, smaller turbo and TMIC. COBBstg2 puts down 300whp teh MS6 puts out 266 engine hp. there is nothing for the MS6 as far as aftermarket goes. by the time there is, the LGT will have millions of parts.

kinda gotta agree... LGT's have limitless possiblities... us mazdaspeed bitches gotta fight tooth and nail to get any parts for our cars... limited production allways hurts us.

dont get me wrong, I love the MS6, I just couldnt wait any longer for a new car. hopefully its not a one year thing. i would buy an 07 or 08 if its still around. maybe the value will nose dive like the MSP and I can pick one up cheap next year.

if someone takes the time to figure out how to tune the direct injection correctly to make more power with it then the MS6 will be a sweet car, otherwise it'll just be a nice car. just hope a large shop with a lot of resources takes interest in it
