News About The Msp Eng Problem

Guys,

I noticed it this morning. (BTW the car is at the dealer). But on my way, the car was idling kinda rough (like it was gonna stall) and then the RPM's bobbed down to 150. Then it jumped up to about 1 and the leveled out. After that the car ran great... it's weird like the ECU reset itself..

Go figure the car ran great on my way the the dealer! WTF!

The reason Mazda did not go with the hard pipes is easy. It would not pass CRASH TESTS. The NTSB would not pass it with hard pipes on it. Hence one of the holdups of the release. :D

i dont think so the lancer have hard intercooler pipes and the intercooler in the front
the mazda is saving money with cheap pipes than break at the year of use and creak with the hot and blown with 10 psi

wrong about mazda saving money. All the test vehicles had ahrd pipes. Hard pipes were put on at the port, they wouldnt pass crash test, because the location of the IC would force the pipes through the firewall. a Front mount has a different setup, that is why the EVO has hard pipes. :D

Yeah, my pipe from the BPV to the I/C (get this) literally came un-glued at the joint. Stock boost levels and not racing at the time.

Even though some people are cool with losing 5-10 hp I am not. The car is rated at 170 hp at the crank, not 165 and not 160. Sorry but I want what I payed for. :wtf:

I wont' accept it either. 5-10 is way too much. 1-2...fine, but even that pisses me off.

The cars were designed to run at 9psi anyways, give us some decent pipes, and adjust the ecu the way it's supposed to be damnit :)

HELL NO TO POWER LOSS!!!!

All I can say is that they better fix this sh!t properly without any power loss!!! I agree w/ what Notorious stated. I payed for this ride w/ a stated hp rating of 170. Anything less would be unacceptable.

Hopefully the new flash, or whatever fix that Mazda NA comes up w/, won`t decrease or hp. rating any.

Oh....and least I forget, "Courtesy Mazda sucks monkey BALLS!!!"
Their customer sevice is a pathetic joke!!! And their service department is just as clueless!!!

Sorry about that. Had a little something I had to get off my chest.:p

the best idea is write to callaway car to find the company that manufacture the hard pipes for the first msp

any have the e-mail

ooohhhh, this would be so nice

<sigh>

wishful thinking perhaps to actually SEE it, but still, pleasant to comtemplate...

hmmmm....

Let's give Mazda the benefit of the doubt and see what they come out with first without jumping the gun too much.

But yes, ....A drop in HP is indeed a problem if they indeed do it.
