so if i were to buy in dash dash monitor and a dvd car player to stick in the glove box id be good to go after just sum wires?? im just hoping u dont need transformers or other s*** behind the dash.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My last post was Wrong, the MP919 in the MSp does not have a aux input as I was told it did! I finaly got my hands on some of the original Kenwood literature from last years and it does not list aux input as a feature.
THis being said you will need an RF modulator to get the DVD players audio into the stereo system. They are about $50 at any retailer that stocks them,
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a car audio specific monitor and dvd playter you will only need wires. If however, you want to use an X-box or playstation or something that was designed for home use then you will need a power inverter to take a 12 volt dc power and make it 120 volt ac for the device.

Slowly straying off topic...

1st_MP3, I have an Alpine cda-7897. I'd like to put in a flip-down screen from the ceiling someday. What would I need to get it set up and working? DVD player, screen, and wires? The reason that I'm thrown off(scratch) is that my HU has a button(or 2?) that says "TV". I know that I should read my Alpine manual, but that thing's like a L.A. phonebook! Thick.

For the alpine you also need a $20 adapter that will make the CD changer cable into a set of RCAs to create the aux audio input.

I can't remember a TV button but my guess is it doesn't do dick.

The kenwood is the same way. You can get a $20 piece from Crutchfield that changes the changer port into an aux input with RCA's.

i was told that if ur cd player does not have aux inputs or whatever (like our mp919 does not) and u get an rf modulator- the sound is not as good? is that true?? is it a lot worse???

The sound is not as good with an FM modulator, its not terrible though.
And your right the Mp919 does not have an aux input but that adapter that crutchfield has may work with it.

hey i got a quesiton... sum guy said he could give people a hookup on an assortmant of products including a NESA in dash lcd with built in am/fm and dvd (sorry thats all the info i have at the moment) sumone said the NESA looked pretty good and he said he can get it for 670 bucks or sumthing. good qualtiy for the price?

hey i just bought a kenwood M700 and a playstation 2, what else am i going to need other than a power inverter to get it up and running?
also where is everyone mounting their ps2s?

That should be all you need. I would try to mount the PS2 somewhere nearby so you can easily change the dvd's/cd's. I would look into getting a Kenwood changer for your cd's since you will probably change them more, or maybe even the music keg or sirius satellite radio. Right now at Circuit City if you buy the Terk Sirius Antenna ($50) you get the Kenwood tuner for free. The same thing applies to the Panasonic direct and rf sirius tuner in case anyone is interested.
