I just bought a '03 Protege5 to replace my beater tercel. Never thought the car would come with a social scene. :D

I'm in Clayton Park, Halifax. I'll probably crash one of these coffee meets some day.

welcome aboard!! Hope to see you out on Sundays. Hopefully it'll stop raining every sunday!

I have a tercel  it's my daily driver to work. Damn good car too.

I wouldn't call it a "scene" so much as one big social "problem" :D

Welcome.

Any plans for the car, or just stock goodness?

Mine's faded, dented, getting rusty... it needs a paint job stat if it's not going to rust apart in a year. It also needs other mechanical work to pass inspection, and I draw the line on spending more than a car's value on repairs.

Plus the car annoys me in many different ways. I'm 6'3 and I don't fit in it - my head is 1/4" from the ceiling and my kness are 0" from the dash. And one time I bought a 20" TV from Future Shop, and *that* didn't fit in the car!

It's retirement time, or at least 'sell it to some poor sucker' time.

I'm all for loitering beyond the 20 minute limit at Tim's, and other social faux pas. :D

Appearance/engine = no. While the prospect of tossing Mazdaspeed Protege parts under the hood is inviting, the car is my daily driver and with my luck I'd break it if I did anything fun with it. And the only sticker that's ever allowed to touch my car will read "rust check". Though, I might put a short shifter in the car. I can't stand the stock gearshift - the thing feels like it moves two miles compared to every other car i've owned.

The stock CD player is coming out, I've got a JVC head and an Empeg going in. Not sure what I'm going to do for speakers yet.
