newbie need help!~

hi, i just got a 03 P5 for my girlfriend. and after i drove 100 miles the code P0171 pop out. i have changed the NGK spark plugs and wires already... is it the EGR?

get it scanned or maybe someone here know the code for that. How is the idle? is it bad or acting weird? if thats the case, the egr vlave needs to be cleaned.

P0171 - System too Lean (Bank 1)

Check your intake tube for cracks. Clean your MAF. I'm guessing it's one of those two...

If not, check you coil packs, check for other vacuum leaks, and lastly your primary O2 sensor.

ths idle is acting weird. they jump from 200-1000 rpm.

Read my prior post. I bet your intake tube has a crack or your MAF is dirty/malfunctioning.

Make sure the intake tube doesn't have any holes, I thought mine was fine and it had huge cracks running all around it.

+1. They seem to go bad at about 80k-100k miles. Pull it off and physically flex it to make sure there's no cracks.

i clean EGR and throttle body, change NEW intake tube, spark plug, coil. and code still here...help!!!

by the way, can anyone let me know how to reset the PCM? thanks

disconnect negative on battery. maybe you have a bad o2 sensor?
