New Spark Plugs @ 50,000 miles?

Hi all!
I'm going to have an oil change this Tuesday and I predict by then I'll be almost at 50,000 miles. I drive a 2020 Mazda CX-9 4cl Touring trim.
The spark plugs have never been changed.
Am I ...?
1) Overdue?
2) Now would be appropriate?
3) It can wait even longer?
Please advise.
Thanks!
Steve
PS
What else might be needed at 50,000?

70-80K miles for the 2.5G
40K miles for the 2.5T

Edit: totally missed that this was a CX-9. The New threads button led me here.

You are 10k mi overdue. They are supposed to be changed at 40k mi, as per the Scheduled Maintenance in your owner's manual, which should be referenced for all dealer services to make sure they aren't trying to sell you services you don't need. Check here for everything that should be done at that mileage, which should only be a general inspection and engine and cabin air filters.

Air filters are incredibly easy to DIY - do not pay a dealer to replace these. Spark plugs are easy to do yourself, provided you have the correct tools and the willingness to learn by watching a couple of videos on Youtube. Keep in mind that the Mazda OEM spark plugs come at a very hefty premium ($45 USD each, last I checked), so be prepared for the bill if you choose to have the dealer do it. I bought plugs on RockAuto (NGK 90288 or DILKAR7M8 at like $11 USD each) and did it myself twice so far (125k kms on my 2018 CX-9).

I have no willingness to do anything myself.
Yet I am thankful for the answers, advice and the link.
Very helpful!
I will get new spark plugs on Tuesday.
Have a nice weekend!

You're overdue. 40,000 for the turbo, 80,000 for non-turbo which isn't available in the CX-9.

I agree with Silly Wabbit. I replaced my first set at like 44-45k and they still looked good. I now have aprox 45k-ish on my current set. I am waiting till 50k to pull one and look at it this time around. I'd be interested to see what they look like at 50k if you are willing.

Tons of threads on this.

I did mine at 61K and they looked perfectly fine. After changing wtih OEM plugs, I noticed zero difference.

Hi everybody!
I'm driving from Brick NJ to Roanoke VA for Thanksgiving. Leaving Wed. 11/27/2024.
I had a past bad experience with my wife's Honda Accord because at 70,000 miles I hadn't gotten the spark plugs changed. A million warning things lit up on her dashboard display. Actually none of those things were faulty...she just needed new spark plugs. I don't want a problem this Thanksgiving when I am multi states away and hundreds of miles from home. I'm just gonna take care of it now at 50,000 miles for my peace of mind.
Happy Thanksgiving,

Thanks everyone :)

At 40k I noticed a bit better performance with the new plugs. It wasn't a big deal, but I'm glad I did it. The plugs looked good. I have no idea how long the plugs will keep working OK until they either work noticeably poorly or one just quits.
