Oh yeah I forgot, the rotors came with a strip of temp sensitive paint on the outer edge.

The color key is as follows:

Red Ambient temp.
Rust 700 deg F
Orange 875 deg F
Yellow 1000 deg F
Pale yellow 1200 deg F
Gray Green 1475 deg F


But after 850 miles of my driving (wrc) the paint is still red. (shrug)

Maybe its those stupid Bobcats stoping the car before they have time to heat up. (thumb)

i have just 11702 miles on the car, and my rotors are warped too! i do not break hard at all either,

i owned 2 and on both rotors were warped after 6k miles

every person i know....at least here in cali.....has warped rotors.

It has been *MY* personal experience that the brake shudder you think is warped rotors is uneven deposits on the rotor from crappy brake pads.

As for aftermarket rotors, I'll dig through my book on Monday and see what I can find. I may have something you'll like....

Yep, cast iron is cast iron (rotors are *NOT* steel). The heat treatments the different manufacturers use can affect how they wear and if they crack easily, but no one rotor is really going to *perform* better than the other.

I don't know if anybody has ever driven a car with warped rotors, but that's not it. The pads are the issue. Besides, it costs $8 a rotor to be resurfaced at Pep Boys anyway. Why waste your money?
