New Product: CorkSport 'Power Series' Downpipe

Can you PM me a price or give us all a price for the ENTIRE system? Powerseries exhuast and the CS J+S Pipe?

now I'm confused

I'm also very excited as I haven't touched my exhaust and now can get a whole true turbo back for less than $700!!! AWESOME!

But? You say that the S pipe and the J pipe come BEFORE the cats? (note that the apex dp INCLUDES the cat section)

A)That means that if we want to run any other exhaust (besides your Corksport) that we will have to either keep the stock cats or find a piece to replace the 2 cats section?

ie. if I wanted to run a 3" Apex unit it would go: corksport Spipe/corksport Jpipe/factory double cats/3" apex catback. (another good marketing ploy, but not very helpfull for people who already have another exhaust)

B) I'm guessing you can just remove the J pipe section and bolt this directly to the apex dp? (this is a 2 piece unit?) Is this true?

get rid of the cats and put in a custom straight pipe is your best option for sure

pre ordered DP 199.00
exhaust system 389.00

199.00+389.00= $588.00

Yes, a full turbo-back exhaust will be less than $700. ;)

The downpipe comes before the cat section, yes. The piece Apex makes is not an actual 'downpipe'. It's a midpipe that removes half the downpipe (to be technical). The Power Series exhaust will NOT work with Apex piece.

Again.... the downpipe does not replace any cats. It replaces the factory cast downpipe only. The cats come after that section.

I'm confused by this J- S- Down- and Mid-pipe stuff...hm.
here's the deal:

stock exhaust: S pipe, J pipe, 2 cat section, catback and axle section

FULL Corksport setup: Spipe/Jpipe ($199), powerseries exhaust back ($389)
the exception with the corksport exhaust is that it attaches after the stock J pipe but before the cats, I believe it's the only exhaust that does this and that's what leads to the confussion.

what most people have now: stock S pipe, apex (or other J pipe and midpipe), catback and axle section.

Thank you LaserBlue....

Update: I have spots for 3 more of these from the first batch as of right now.

Yeah, i got it now, 505 did some splainin to me. CS's way of doin the exhaust makes more sense to me, to not integrate the J pipe into the midpipe.

What would make the most sense would be to have a downpipe, a midpipe, and a catback (and to call them all by the correct names).

You only need to purchase two Power Series parts to get a complete turboback exhaust system though.

Yes, we need some ISO standardization here with these exhaust part names.

But you can get this 'downpipe' (aka S and J) and the turboback and it would be saix.
I hope this is clarifying for anyone else that might not be up to 'Speed with these terms.

I wouldn't even be able to count how many times I've posted specific the definition of these parts, where they go, and what they do. People are posting before they are reading which adds to more confusion of new readers thinking there is fitment issues.

I'm still working on a side project www.protegespeed.net which will outline the details of this exhaust setup (among a bunch of other questions that require the same answers all the time). I took all those pictures on the first page myself. I'll have more pictures and compare them to stock on that site. At that point I will direct people there for information.

hey horsepower freak I sent you a pm. I'll talk to you after I get home. let me know If I can get in on this deal with you.

Ok, I guess it's just me but how come everyone doesn't seem that excited. I've been waiting fo rthis part for a LONG TIME and i'm sure alot of other people have too. Other companies have offered this or the s pipe or j pipe alone, but at a huge price. I'm for one jumping on this deal!!! Even thought it's only 2.25 ID I can finally put this piece on and get the rest of the exhaust custom . That means a full, turboback exhaust finally. Sorry, Im kinda gideee.

Still waiting on some answers to these questions...

Will the Corksport 'Power Series' S-pipe alone bolt onto the Apex DP (J-pipe)?

If so, will Corksport sell the S-pipe by itself? I understand that HorsepowerFreaks won't.

The Power Series Downpipe pieces will not be sold separately.

The upper portion of the Power Series downpipe has not been fitted with the Apex pipe. In theory it will bolt together, but that can not be 100% verified.

update: I have ONE of these downpipes left that is not spoken for yet.

i'm happy as hell i didn't get any other exhaust. while i won't be able to afford this until mid-summer i'm damn happy i had to wait.

This is good news! We have to reomove the turbo to install this though? Any dyno #'s with this installed with a power series exhaust? Im just looking for how much more power to expect form this piece with the exhaust already installed.
