new problem

I think(but not sure)the problem started today. Everytime in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear the car will shake quite a bit when im on the gas. If i let off the gas, car runs great. It does not do this in 1st or 2nd gear tho. The car doesnt really feel like im losing or have no power, it just shakes bad. The only thing i've changed recently is the spark plugs and gas. Plugs i switched to the NGK ZFR6F-11(extended reach) from the NGK IFR5E-11. Could it be the heat range change? As for gas, i usually got BP or Shell 93 octane, but today for the first time i filled up with Sunoco 94 octane. Could it be the gas?

If the car is shaking, that sounds like an alignment problem. If it was the engine you'd feel the shaking in 1st and 2nd gear because those 2 gears go through the same RPM range if not higher than the others. An alignment issue would be noticeable at higher velocities that are attained used 3rd, 4th and 5th gears.

that may be it.....i just had my wheel bearings replaced. Thought i read somewhere that u should get an alignment after they are replaced?

yep, you need an alignment after you replace your wheel bearings

but it would still do it even after you let off the gas his stops shaking when he lets off the gss

not sure...that part is confusing...but if he gets an alignment (which he needs anyway) and that corrects the problem, he's done. if not, at least he's gotten his alignment and he can look elsewhere.

its confusing to me....i put about half tank of 94 in my car easter weekend and i had no problem. then yesterday i put about 3/4 tank of 94 again, drove around a bit with no problem then it just started happening. Wonder if maybe i got bad gas or perhaps they ripped me off....gave me 87 or 89 in the 94 pump. (confused)

are your motor mounts good? maybe the unbalance at the right rpm is throwing everything off

just installed a front sls mount yesterday....car feels good but im still having the shaking...guess not as bad tho

maybe your crank is out of balance or what about the other mounts?

i have not looked at the other mounts but i will get on that. Your thinking maybe the crank is warped or sumtin?

its possible, how hard do you drive the car? are your temps always normal? and yeah it could just be your other mounts. give them a look

i drive a lil hard from time to time i guess. temps always look normal

after inspection, the side passenger mount appears to be completely torn. looks like a new sls smm is in my near near future
