Hello. After referring a friend to the Mazda 5 I seem to have picked one up myself. 2012 Clear Water Blue Touring with Moonroof and Audio package. It was not what I was shopping for (cheap economy car for work commute). We got a really good deal on it so it worked out really well for us, aside from the fact that we now have two minivans, one big and one small. I have some all-weather mats on order, and will tint the windows soon (everything including the moonroof but not the front window). Looking into the cargo cover and the rear bumper protector as well, just want to see the two in person before I order them. Still on the fence about remote start. After looking into the Mazda one I decided against it, not sure what aftermarket to go with.

So far after 250 miles I like the car. Just found out today that we have to be careful with four on board getting out of our driveway, though. Haven't had to worry about that in quite a few years.

Everyone knows what a M5T looks like, so unless I do anything out of the ordinary, no need to post anything up I suppose.

Anyone know anything about the dealer HID upgrade? Wondering if it's complete with level adjustment or not.

Welcome to the forums! I'm glad you are enjoying your 5. Feel free to post up any pics that you wish when you get around to doing something out of the ordinary with it :)

As for the HID, I have the OEM HIDs on my 5 and they have a manual height adjustment via a knob on the dash.

This is the wife's car so I dunno how many interesting things are going to happen with it. I have been only able to leave one car stock for any amount of time and I've had a lot of cars, so you never know...

I never drove the GT at night. How do you like the HIDs? Any chance you can take some night photos from the driver's seat at the different height settings?

Oh, so the headlight adjuster was just for HID cars?

(yippy) for your new Five! I'll try to get Larry to join here and tell you it'll only end in tears.

The HID's are great, but it's my first car with them, so I don't have much to compare them to. The cutoff doesn't seem to be as sharp as some euro market HID's that I've experienced (my friend's LR3, for example). Still, going from the Mazda to my Civic is quite a shock. You will be spoiled by the output for sure.

I may try and get some pics for you, but you can probably search the Mazda3 forum for examples. As for the height adjust range, it is surprisingly large. At the highest, they are quite wide, and probably just come short of dazzling oncoming traffic. At their lowest, they basically shine right at the ground, and are pretty much useless.

I am thinking of seeing if the height of the headlights can be manually adjusted, so that the standard top setting is in the middle of the range, allowing me to turn them all the way up for a "high beam" spread, and down low for city driving.

I have two minivans and a V6 auto SN95 'vert. I'm WAY past crying!

Good info there. I really should have spent the extra coin for the GT I test drove.
