(attention)

I know Mahk... old age...

Welcome Scott! Seeing that you are in school I'm going to guess that you are on a limited budget so my question would be...what is your vision of making the car your own?

Throw out any ideas/thoughts you have and I'm sure one of us has either thought of doing it or done it and give you pros/cons etc and will also give us a better idea of the direction you want to go.

Jenn, take it easy on Mahk....he has those old eyes. hehe

I won't be much of a help in letting you know what mods are great but I am an expert in stretching a budget.
Word of advice: Presuming you've been working in HS this is the most money you will have until you get a real job. I worked two jobs throughout most of my collegiate career and only barely scraped enough cash together to buy my car. Don't want to be a downer but its just the unfortunate reality.

well i already have some exterior stuff on the way that will be put on soon.
but i need to replace my hood b.c its about to rust through on the front left part right above the grille... :/
so i don't think that i will be doing anything else this summer besides normal maintenance.
i know that its slow, and i would have to shell out some serious cash to make it fast. therefore, it will remain slow.
i don't want it to be ostentatious, but i want it to be unique, through subtle things. for example, i have underglow that shines on the drivers and passengers feet (installed by previous owner) but just things like that.
First and foremost, it is my everyday car, so major mods will be rare / not happen. The most work i will be doing on the car is maintaining it and keeping it looking nice.
The suspension is old, so i was thinking next summer re-doing it and replacing all the old hoses in the engine along with cleaning up the engine bay in general, and replacing anything that is aging or rusted.
After the suspension, i'd like to throw a strut bar on.

Very, very good plan. Maintaince is key. Keeps em running longer and better. Youve got the right idea though, not saying mods are a waste (they arent) but your doing the right thing till you can afford to get more into those things. Im out of school, working full time and Im taking my time on my car as well. So, your not the only one! Welcome, by the way, Im Krystal. :)

Very good plan.

x2....at least you have admitted that the car is slow and always will be, that's the first step. As for the hood, you could go with a carbon fiber one to help it stand out from the crowd. Check the f/s sections here and craigslist for both a c/f and oem. Not too long ago I found a stock hood in the NJ area going for under $100.

When you do the suspension do you intend on lowering the car or replacing with OEM parts?
