Black Mica Mazda 3s
Hi All, I just picked up my Black Mica Mazda3s with rear spoiler about a week ago here in Tulsa, OK. At first the dealer said he couldn't find one in a stick, but he had one just like it in automatic on the lot. I pretty much had my mind set on black as I had taken about a month to decide my new car purchase. BTW, I used this site a lot to help make my decision. After it appeared I was going to leave, he went back to his car search guy and they found one in St. Louis and had it delivered to me a week later. I guess I got one of the last of the 04 models. We've had hot weather and so far my A/C works fine. It's not really cold right away like my old Honda, but it keeps my car cool. Everything else about the car is in great shape, I hope I don't get one with the CEL problems. Only complaint is the brake dust buildup, but I can take care of that later with new pads.

I've got a lot of ideas for my new car. I'm an Electrical Engineer and I've got a lot of great ideas for car mods. I've decided to stay with the stock head unit though, at least for a while. I love those stearing wheel controls. Today I'm going to install the sub from my old car into my new car, so here's hoping that goes well.

Welcome Jigga..
I have a Silver 3S and I am also in Tulsa.. I had mine delivered from Missouri cause Nelson didn't have the one I wanted, but I got leather also in the deal for the same price.. So I'm not complaining..
I have had mine since June and the A/C seems to get better the longer I own it.. Of course the milder weather doesn't hurt much..

One thing I will say.. I LOVE the car.. But I don't care for the Service Dept.. I have had mine in for service twice, and they have done a half-assed job each time.. Oil slopped on the engine cover and not refilling the washer fluid when they said they did.. Not good in my book, but it was FREE..

Hi HWorth18. It's cool to meet another Tulsa person on here. I also was pretty afraid of their service. I was also looking at Toyota's and I've dealt with the Jim Norton service and they are awesome. My old Honda was always worked on at Joe Marina and they had outstanding service as well. But I decided on the Mazda because I just wasn't satisfied with the Honda's or Toyota's I looked at. So I took a leap of faith on the Mazda3. I was really really afraid of their service, because Mazda is owned by Ford and I know how Ford service departments are, not to mention the quality of the vehicles anyways. So you aren't making me feel any better with your comments. I'm really not afraid to raise hell either, and I hope to god my car doesn't have to go in very often. I am doing the free oil change though in a while, so I'll see how that goes. I also noticed that my windshield washer fluid was practically empty when I got the car, and they didn't fill it.

So what have you had your car in for service on so far? And what common quirks or nuances have you encountered or had to put up with so far? I just want to know what to expect.

Thanks.

i was in tulsa just a month ago. User RyanJayG lives there, owns a lowered yellow mp3!

Welcome...

...and congrats on your new car. Here's to waiting and getting the one you wanted. (drinks)

I haven't had any problems yet.. I have just taken it in for the 3000 and 6000 mile service.. The first (3000) oil change was free (yours should be also), but when I saw what they did (see previous post above) I chewed on the service manager and he offered me another free oil change.. I took it in and they changed the oil/rotated the tires.. I popped the hood and the same thing.. oil slopped, no washer fluid.. I will say at least this time they (tried) to wipe the oil off.. But I ended up doing a much better job..
Needless to say, Nelson won't be getting any more of my money for service unless it's something covered under warranty, because UNFORTUNATELY, Nelson is the ONLY Mazda dealership besides OKC and Nelson's Mazda service dept is like an afterthought, something they HAD to do.. (headshake

Like I said, I have 6000 miles on my car and I LOVE it!!!! The only thing I have noticed so far was the rear brake dust problem.
And the service could be better ................................ (rant)
