Is anyone running your manifold yet? Or the SU manifold?
I got mine from SU right when they came out. After we got wacked by Wilma, I spent the powerless/jobless days putting it in. Spent a good three days for the install. Normally the whole thing will take 3 hours or so, but I had no electricity and had to get creative with finding the tools/materials I needed. That, and the EGR is a b****. I ended up sawing through my old one. It took a few days after that to get some little kinks worked out as far as getting rid of CELs etc... Anyway, even the SU, at more money, was a great mod. As far as butt dyno goes, it felt like 7psi after the mani was 10psi prior. If you have any questions about the install, let me know.

Hold on, I'm having a little trouble with understanding.. "it felt like 7psi after the mani was 10psi prior" lol could you reword that a lil, I'm not sure if your saying it felt slower or better but I assume you mean better.??

So , u didnt have to take the motor out to install it?

The motor doesn't come out. It is about a 3 hour job with the right tools.

what he means by that is that you can feel the power down low, the turbo spools up and pulls harder in the low range, the top part its not as noticable

makes it easy to do the rear motor mount once the manifold is out :D well, easier than doing it from the bottom

yeah and I totall forgot about the motor mount until I had the damn IM almost finished, (poke) I was pissed

get past the dang plastic wire harness mount and then its lining the sleeve up with the engine brace. the IM out is a bonus!

yeah that wire harness is in a bad spot, even with the motor out its still hard to get at until you move it

I was trying to describe how the car pulled after the install. When I put the manifold in, it felt like I was running 10psi before I had it in... whatever... I'm definetly no Shakespeare (I prefer Moliere anyway)... buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Yup, just dismount that from the FIREWALL, and its cake. I got it down in about an hour in and out. Gess doing it 3-4 times will do that. :D

Who here has Kens intake mani installed?? Does it require any re-routing of the vac lines?? What else is involved with the install?

Vac line reroute gives the car better drivability, mainly with the turbo protege.

Okay i just want to calirfy to sum eveything up: Please correct if I left anything out or am wrong in any way.

This is for Protege Garage's 626 intake mani
all parts/aspects for install to aviod CEL:
1. 626 mani (duh) $299
2. ERG pipe $55
3. Rewiring of the vac lines
5. Install time: hours 3

Benifits:
1. 10-15 whp if boosted, will hurt performance if NA
2. Removal of VICS screws. Which 2002+ protege's did not get a recall on so those screws should not cause problems even at 300whp.

Good info. Does anyone have a detailed instruction on which lines need to go where?? Im pretty sure there are specific lines that need to be re routed.
