06 Mazdaspeed 6
Whats up everyone? Just bought a ms6 about a week and half ago. Its in the shop right now with a leaking shaft seal. I get it back tomorrow and I cant wait. Im already registered on mazda 6 club but I figured I would check this forum out too. Im really new to the turbo thing so I may ask a lot of stupid questions but bare with me. My other vehicle is a 99 Honda civic si so im use to the NA. Anyways... I look forward to meeting everyone and learning more about the ol' ms6. (ughdance)

Welcome! Got any more details about your car (trim, options, color, year?) Post pics when you get the chance, and enjoy!

Well its completely stock right now. I only had it for about 3 days until I notice the giant puddle of oil underneath it. So I took it back to the dealership and they have had it since. Didnt have the part in stock so that what I have been waiting for. I do have the Cobb AP ordered along with a Forge bpv. Im not sure on the exact name of the color but it seems to be pretty popular due to the amount of them I have seen on this forum. It is a sport, so its got cloth, 6 disc changer, Bose, Im not sure what was all standard on the ms6? I bought it with 34xxx miles on it and got it for about 18500. Its an 06. Im really looking forward to getting the Cobb ap to help with the "falling on its face" at about 5500 rpm.

Cool, glad you're getting it taken care of. It looks like you've got a liquid platinum MS6, judging by your avatar pic. Sounds like you've already started modding and you should have some fun with those to start.

Yea... I would really like a SRI but I dont want to have to mod a cobb ms3 sri to fit. So I guess I will just wait until cobb releases one for the ms6.

Any particular reason you're going SRI vs. CAI? Just wondering. Also, you'll like the Forge, and the intake (whichever you choose) will really wake up the sound. I'm running the MS CAI and Forge and I love it. It's a unique sound.

yea... I have heard different opinions on the sound of the forge but for the price I dont think you could really go wrong. I heard theres a lot of maintenance with the forge though? I have a CAI on my Civic Si and with the amount of rain I get in my area which is anywhere from Iowa to Wisconsin to Minnesota, I just get worried about hydrolock.

Other than figuring out which spring to put in, there isn't much maint. other than lubrication once every 6 months or so. I do it every oil change since I'm under the hood.

I'd suggest looking into that hydroshield if you're worried about wet weather and hydrolock. You've got the CAI on your Civic, so you know the risks involved. As long as you don't try to make the MS6 amphibious, I think you'll be alright.
