I recently purchased a Mazdaspeed 3 last week and going to pick it up on friday but im philip and this will be my first mazda.. i had a v6 tiburon with some mods on it but time to move to something turboed.... the car already has a Greddy exhaust on it and thats the only mods ive seen so far.. the guy that had it before put some cobb tuning stickers and turbosmart perf products on her but i mite leave em on there.. but feel free to give me any tips i need to learn with this car..

yea thanks i cant wait for it.. Quick question.. ive seen alot of people saying Venting to atmosphere is bad for the speed 3... wa do you think... i was gonna go with the HKS BOV

I keep mine nearly stock. I don't see the need for improvement beyond suspension upgrades.

I put an HKS Vent-to-atmosphere BOV on my car and I have nothing but good things to report...Looks good, sounds good (if you like that sound), and performs good. I had a few hiccups with it at first, but the good folk on these forums were quick to help out. Everything is all kosher... I say go for what you want. Just make sure you keep all the stock parts you replace

i like the way the HKS Sounds so i heard it is bad to vta in speed 3 so if i vta is there any precautions i can take to operate it safely with venting to atmosphere

I got a CEL when I installed mine...But there is a plug for the recirc. line that is supposed to come with the blow-off valve. I just never got that with mine so the hose was sucking in unmetered air. Kinda made the car idle a little sloppy, but not bad. I have since replaced it with the stocker until I can find this "plug" that I need...I may have to buy another BOV. But with the HKS, the car sure made a nice sound. It seemed to pull a fair bit harder at upper RPM's as well

I forgot to mention that I bought my HKS used from a forum member and it only came with the valve...Nothing else. When you buy brand new, you get everything, including the plug (I think)
