New Generation of Sirius = KICKASS

OMG, it's so easy and so simple... I was talking w/ albert about the setup process, splicing into wires and grounding them. I open up my box and well, there were no power wires so I'm like "wtf, am I missing parts?" Turns out, the entire signal... powerfeed, audio source, is all sent through the single wire that plugs into our stock HU, and after that, plug in your antenna, and after that, activate it and BAM, it works. Just that easy. No mess. No tapping into wires. 100% plug and play! Just thought I'd share my excitement, and get all those stragglers who haven't gotten Sirius yet to get it. Get it now!

(dunno) Considering getting it......but.......where do they mount that dorky antenna on our otherwise clean car? (dunno)

Mount it right between the two childseat hookups... there's a flat spot.. it fits EXTREMELY well right there... look in your car, you'll see it...

Tell you what... after I finish the install tomorrow (mounting it to the back of my seat), I'll post some pictures and can see what you think... Trust me, with two wires, you can make it look like a REALLY clean, stock install.

all msp owners had the option of getting the free antenna with the purchase of their cars. i have had my car for over a yr now. am i still eligible for this?

Have had it for a few months, mounted the antenna up front on the dash (looks very clean) as if you tint your car in the rear the reception goes to s***. See pictures at: www.03msp.com - Projects section

Check the pic to see where to put the antenna. Then I put the seats down and pulled up the trim behind them to where the antenna came through, then i pulled that to the left and ran it down under the trim for the length of the car and took it out under the passenger seat, where my receiver was. then that wire went under the carpet to under the glove box then reached around (took off the glove box) and pushed in the chord. The chord plugs in upside down. I spent a lot of time trying to push it in right-side up. My radio was screwed in. I'm not sure why. thats why i didn't take out the radio.

When you hook up sirius to the kenwood unit, during a song on the radio, does it automatically show you the song and artist/scrolling across the screen?

krillin: yes, you should still be eligible... goto www.americansatellite.com and call them up, they're the ones w/ the hookup.

DSM2MSP: Yep, you can set it up that way.. it's all dependent on your HU, but if you have the stock one, or any other one that supports sirius (I would assume they all work), you can. So in short, YES. :)

I'm not seeing the picture...

Yup I have the same tuner. Easiest install I ever had. It took longer to pull the damn head unit out of the cage than to wire the tuner.

Is it true that w/ tint, you can't get decent reception? I'm gonna be getting 35% all around soon, but I dont want to mount the antenna w/ sticky stuff if it's not gonna get good reception... anyone know for SURE?

Just put the antenna on the roof where it's supposed to go!

geezus I can't understand why nobody does this.

First, Aiken, you suck because yours was so easy.

Second, I have 35% tint on the rear and the reception is fine with the antenna on the rear deck (inside).

Because I'd rather throw a brick through my back window than have a tape dispenser on my roof. Sorry, I just can't stand it there. Works fine on the back deck behind the glass.

Ok guys.........If you want to hide the antenna its simple.

Take off your back dash cover. Mount the antenna to the metal on the lower ledge and cover it back up.. I did this and you cant tell its there at all. And i have ZERO reception problems.
