New Generation of Sirius = KICKASS

Okay guys... it's in and working!!! My arm's cut up pretty good from the dash, but by God it's in (I need a girlfriend. At least she would have smaller arms than me :D ). I do have a question for you guys though.

When you installed the satellite radio, did you have to turn the volume up to get the same sound as before (ie, to get the loudness at level 20 before the install, you now have to turn it to say 26 or something)? I could see how that could be the case with the tuner running off the head unit power, but I just want to make sure I didn't screw anything up.

Thanks again everybody for the input and I will hopefully have some of the pics up tomorrow morning.

I dont think i had any volume issues. But who knows.. that was a long time ago so i dont really remember. I think there is an offset between the radio and a cd though.

Ok. I don't know what was up with it. It was fine this morning, I think I just need to adjust my EQ settings.

Now another question... there is a bracket on the center console toward the back... right below the storage area behind the e-brake. Is that bracket supposed to go outside or inside the bracket that's mounted on the car floor?

Thanks.

Slug 420 put it in the center of the glass on the bottom of the rear window. It actually looks fine there. And its not on the paint that way.

Mines on the roof now but I wish i put it on the glass.

Is it true that w/ tint, you can't get decent reception? I'm gonna be getting 35% all around soon, but I dont want to mount the antenna w/ sticky stuff if it's not gonna get good reception... anyone know for SURE?
Not sure if this was answered, but there are 2 kinds of tint, metal based and dye based. If you want good reception, buy dye based ONLY.

Question answered.......
