New CX-9 door strap noise problem

Hi all,
I am new to Mazda and while I am enjoying the new ride, I am a bit frustrated by my first problem and the response from the dealer. I was basically told that the noise my front passenger door makes is normal and that Mazda doors all make noise while opening and closing. I am not buying this as my other doors do not make this noise. 2 hours later - the only resolution in sight was to inform them if the noise gets worse to call them back and they will order a new door strap. I’ll attach a video of the problem.

typical dealer response. do you have another dealer close by or are they the only one?

I'd look closely inside that part for anything moving around that shouldn't be. Only the flat steel piece sliding into the door should be the only moving part. Is the flat steel piece lightly greased? It needs a touch of lubrication.

Thank you. They apparently lubricated the door strap and the service advisor said it’s better but it’s clearly not. (but I could tell he just wanted me out of there.) he actually said when he approached me “Let’s get you out of here” after my two hour wait. Part of me thinks it could be because I didn’t buy the car from them. I will certainly try later at another dealer - maybe when I can lump other services.

I had the same issue and all it was is the anchor that screws into the pillar was not tight. I tighten it and noise went away.

Same here. Happened on the drivers door. Tightened it up & all good.
