New CX 5

I made a very helpful thread a while back about this. You may want to take a look. Lots of very informative posts from Ride92 if you scroll down.

Grit guards, straight-line technique, and lots of fresh microfiber.

Or just do what I do and take it to the car-wash, spray the bristle brush off with high-pressure, and then foam-brush and scrub!

After years of applying wax in a swirling motion I learned a year ago to use straight lines instead. Any fine scratches will be less noticeable. Definitely use quality microfiber. South Korea sourced is considered better than China.

I am hoping this is just being facetious.

Anyway, use a microfiber wash mit. Agreed on staying away from sponges.

Does anyone use leather chamois anymore? I don't mean the Sham Wow thing. I remember my dad doing a whole involved routine with washing the car from the hose, shammying it dry and applying Turtle Wax.

I don't know. I just use a big microfiber drying towel myself.

I use a drying towel as well. Just drag it lightly across the surface and it’s dry save for a few drops in the usual places.

No. Not that I know of. Back when I owned a corvette and cared, I would just go to the car-wash and use the sprayer and tons of microfiber and my own soap. Straight-line technique. It was because I lived in an apartment. If I had had a house then, I would have used 2 bucket method and grit-guards. Like Colorado said, large microfiber to dry. Straight-line ALWAYS!!!!

I use a leather chamois - i will never lint or pickup dirt (unless you lay it on sand and walk on it i guess) - so i like them.
