From what I heard the sound quality is better too?
I noticed my Bose in my 2008.5 GT was cutting out as I was driving it home from the friggin' lot.
Really sucked, but the dealer earnestly started troubleshooting everything for loose wires, blah blah. Luckily I was able to show the dealer how to repeat it on demand. They would try this and that and test it. You get the picture.
Turns out, it was the circuit board in the amplifier. Had to be under a load and vibrated (driving). Maybe they got a bad batch. This happens from time to time in electronics mfg. Like I said, under a load it's OK but add the vibe and it cuts out.
I could tell they didn't want to replace the unit but they eventually had to. The solution is definitely to replace the amplifier. It took 10 days, but they fixed it. It rocks now.(band2)
I had my new one installed yesterday...but the dumb s**** ordered the wrong one, and supposedly you can't tell until its installed. so they had to order a new one and they proceeded to tell me they don't even know if this is the right one, and that there is no way to tell.....BUUUUUULLLLL SSHHHIIIITTTTT. So now im going back today to get the other one they ordered installed. ******* stealership
I agree... I sure don't want the dash opened up and then simply have the faulty unit replaced with another faulty unit...
Please report back if/when the swap happens and let us know if it fixes the problem!
I wonder why they're so apt to order a new headunit but they're confirming theres no tsb or news from mazda regarding it. If it were me, I'd still be concerned that the new headunit would do the same thing.
