NEMOC Random BS Thread

Chris, let me know if you decide to go new a all. I can get you S-Plan Pricing on amy new Mazda.
Thanks Marlon. I've considered the new CX-5 but was really hoping they'd get the diesel out. Looks like 2016 at the earliest so that's out. I've heard there are issues with the tech package too, something about it not remembering what song you were listening to on your iPod, and other annoying things. CX-9 is probably better suited for towing and I could get one used for around the price I'd pay for a new CX-5.

I should probably do my taxes and see how much I'm getting back before I give it too much more thought.

^ im waiting for the diesel as well to replace the p5. hopefully itll be great when it finally makes its way over here

I made the mistake of clicking the "Add Competitor" button when I was looking at the CX-5 specs on cars.com. The Mini Countryman came up. I had previously dismissed it thinking it was too expensive but it is priced competitively with the CX-5. Oh, and they offer more options...you know like a manual transmission with AWD, heated leather seats, and climate control. Oh dear...I might have to cave and take one for a test drive.

I like the Countryman. Althought I would much prefer Mini to put the AWD system in their normal Cooper S/JCW. They do that and I'm sold

I am waiting on the new 6 Diesel...once it is out, we're pulling the trigger.....I guess I have the patience of Job!

I was waiting, and then told myself "Watch, as soon as I buy something else, it's gonna get announced." I saw someone on FB state that they were getting sent to diesel school soon. Looks like it may be sooner than we think.

If I didn't just buy this car, it would have been easier for me. First payment is due March 21st, so I'm still working on making sure my new budget is all set.

Hey no worries but hope you can make it.

How did you all fare in *insert trendy name here* Snow Storm?

Had about a foot in most of my driveway. Drifted up to almost 2 in other places. The Fiat no likie the snow very much. I wish I had spare money saved up for another set of wheels for snow tires. Maybe next year.

No snow here!!!

Went to Cape Canaveral for the weekend to visit my brother. Great weather, about 10 degrees warmer than Pensacola. My brother and I spent an afternoon at a gun range in Orlando. Got to try a AR-15, Kalashnikov, Shotgun, and S&M 9mm. Was all pretty cool.

Clay barred the car today, looks better after a wash.

the countryman to me is like the fiat 500L. its a good looking body to start with but then it just looks a little off when it is stretched out for the 4 doors.

Damn dude! Staying young at heart tho! Not too many older gents that I choose to hang out with like you, Bruce and Marlon. (And my dad too, but that's given)

Dirty ol bastahd......sounds like the house is moving right along......Let me know if you guys decide on the CX-5.....the CX3 is due to arrive next year...

So the Ford Escape, which is basically a twin of the CX-5 in dimensions, offers a tow package with the 2.0T that boosts towing capacity to 3,500 lbs. No manual transmission though. Basically I'm learning that tow ratings have a lot to do with power. There is a test they do in Arizona where they have to climb a steep grade in 110 degree weather for 6 miles without dropping below 40 mph. If a car can do that, it gets the official tow rating for whatever it hauled up that hill. Do I really need that? I'm pretty good about taking it easy when towing....and I don't plan on crossing Death Valley anytime soon. There's also braking tests and what not, but from what I can tell, tow packages rarely include upgrades to the braking or cooling system...they just include an overall larger engine and occasionally different final drive ratios. Oh, and they charge you $500 for a $150 hitch.

Dammit, Mazda. Why won't you just release the Diesel!

That Ecoboost engine has had 3 or 4 recalls on it since its inception. I wouldn't look too much into one.

Morning everyone!

Two more years and you can "retire" Mahk. :) Glad to hear you made it safe on your trip down South.

Chris, my in-laws have a 2014 Escape with the ecoboost and so far none of the troubles I've heard about it. It is strictly a city commuter though...

What's the CX3??

Mark, how many miles on the Tribute?? Seems like you bought it not too long ago? What's the move in date looking like?

Was going to work on the car today but it's raining. I miss having a garage, but not the house.
