NEMOC Random BS Thread

Sean, what is the 60k maintenance kit? You think seafoaming it + whatever that kit is will fix all the issues? (Throwout bearing aside.. also trans fluid should not cause any lurching or hesitation)

The cat converter can be a b**** to pull w/ old rusty nuts.

Timing belt cam seals valve cover gasket plugs wires fuel filter. Its a start, plus it needs to be done anyway. Plus I don't want to pay a grand to have a shop do it

Make sure it's an OEM valve cover gasket. Camshaft seals should not cause hesitation. I'm around this Saturday and Sunday, maybe we can figure something out? Is driving to MA too far? I can come down w/ a bunch of tools too.

I could drive up.

The kit from gomiata is all OEM stuff.

Awesome. I just learned that I'm flying to Kansas on Monday. Gotta do an inspection and supposed to fly home on Wednesday. If I miss LRP for this, I'm gonna be pissed!

NASCAR this weekend. Limerock next weekend. If the weather looks good, I will take the truck...but if it's gonna be a wet one I'll just drive the 6.

Well... work travel has caused me to not have enough time to finish the Bavaria. MSM it is.

Sean and Oleg, if you need a place to work this weekend on cars let me know. Sean we also have a guest room if you needed to stay.

Putting these 17's on tonight:

215/40R17. Can't wait to ditch those s*** Wynstar tires on the front!

D'oh, realized no rim protector on these tires.

I didn't, mostly because I wasn't sure if I needed that full kit.

I popped the plug wires off, and I didn't see any overt signs of oil in the plug holes. However, I was messaging muff, and he told me to check around the rear of the crank sensor. I did, and there is oil back there.. So the mystery leak might be the CAS o-ring.

So I think the plan of attack is I'm just going to get plugs/wires, the o-ring, and a TB kit which includes the timing belt, valve cover gasket, crank seals, tensioner etc.

We'll just have to get some trans and diff fluid at the auto parts store.

Tony, congrats on 10K!

Can you get that stuff for the weekend? If you don't mind spending the moolah ($22 a quart), local Ford dealerships carry the best MT transmission fluid (better than Redline MT-90). So, are we doing this?

IN other news, threw on the rims & tires last night. No tire shine yet:

I think I need to get some 5mm spacers:

I put 2 day shipping on it, so hopefully everything will be here on Friday.

BTW, love the 6 rims on the p5!
