NEMOC Random BS Thread

Good morning! This mild winter is killing me, I'm so tempted to swap the summer wheels onto the cars but it's just not warm enough...yet. It would be nice to get one good snow storm before the season is over.

lucky for me I cant do that since im still waiting to put tires on those mp3 wheels :)

allooooooo

so i gotta do some rear suspension work on the p5 soon, probably just endlinks. But i figure while im in there i may as well put on some of those new stagg struts and lower the thing. sounds like a spring clean meet project to me! :D

this might be the year I pull the trigger on some gunmetal chaparral wheels for the miata. the only problem is, it doesn't look like continental offers any tires in the right size for those wheels.

EFF MEE. The MS6 VVT is ****** and the warranty just expired. $1100 that would have only cost me $100 if it happened LAST WEEK! FFFFFUUUUUU. I just started hearing the rattle this weekend and I thought the warranty expired next week.

I just paid it off. Not looking to have another payment right now. This will obviously have to come out of the truck budget. I can probably still buy the REPU but I won't have the cash to immediately start fixing things.

Yep.... I've had it for about a few months now. I'll be getting it fixed here soon since I got a nice 15% off coupon for repairs since my Mazda has over 75k miles.

hrm.. well if it isn't that audible, maybe it is time for a trade-in?

Oh it is definitely audible, but only on start up.

I doubt they could help. The warranty contract is pretty black and white.

I'm still going to look at the REPU on Sunday, but this just means I might have to wait for my tax return before I can get it on the road. Pretty sure the truck won't pass NH inspection until the rocker panel is repaired but I will factor that into negotiations when I talk to the guy.

Good morning!

That blows Chris!!! I'm with Bruce though, it can't hurt to give them a call. Maybe they'll authorize a fix under warranty or even discount a percentage of it? Worst thing they can say is 'no'.

Chris you may be able to get some leverage in your favor because there is a TSB for the VVT issue. I don't know it off the top of my head, but I am sure you can find it with minimal searching.

Just got off the phone with various DMV and town offices making sure I have no trouble with paperwork if I end up buying the REPU. I'll have to get a vin verification form filled out by local PD or pay $10 for a temp plate since there is no title issued by the state of CT. Once I register for real plates I could do antique or regular. There are no restrictions on antique plates other than the vehicle must be at least 25 years old. I could also grab some plates off eBay from 1975. Found these...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1975-new-hampshire-mz-297-license-plate-PAIR-/140707380418?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c2d03cc2#ht_500wt_1202

I
would have to register the truck as a passenger vehicle and pay the vanity plate fee, then I could use these plates instead of the ones that come in the mail.
