NEMOC Random BS Thread

Day 2 of me being told not to go to work..... I-285 is closed in parts, I-20, I-85, and I-75 are closed. There are semis parked on the side of the highway because conditions are so bad. The whole area is covered in 1-2" of ice combined with the 8" of snow we got yesterday.

All public buses are canceled, Greyhound is not moving, the airport is delayed or nothing at all....

The whole area around Atlanta is one big ass skating rink.

Edit: There is a section of I-285 that is literally a parking lot. The semi trucks have been parked on the Interstate since around noon yesterday.

imagine if they got what we are scheduled to get tomorrow. NOAA is saying 18 inches for NL county.

Chris - That's insane bro. Hmmm....Global warming or just a slow shift in climates?

You know I was reading in the news about how an airport in Tampa Bay, Florida had to change something with their runway because of a magnetic pole shift in the Earth.

Oh yeah.... Here is what the interstates here look like. These trucks haven't moved for hours.

I found out that Atlanta and surrounding areas are equipped to handle this kind of thing. They have a half a dozen trucks for the Atlanta area and they keep one at the airport.

Yep. The Miata has them also.

You don't have to rereg them to GA?

got tickets to the game sun...35 yard line, 50 rows from the field, visitor side...can't wait!

68 days till spring!!!! ;)

Fantastic Mark, dress warm. Should be a great game. Will be watching it from Canada.

Just heard a weather report for Cape Cod. They are not sure about what we will see here, maybe snow....or rain. Go figure...LOL!

They are predicting 8 inches for Nashua. They've been wrong for every storm this winter. We will see.

Chris, it's hard to feel sorry for you.

Not really. I reg'd the Miata to my mom's place in Florida and I have GA and FL insurance. I claim dual residency.

Chris, it's hard to feel sorry for you.

Yeah, I know. Atleast you all have snow plows to actually CLEAR the roads. It's been 2 whole days and the road in front of my complex still is covered in ice and snow.

Eh, snow plowing is over-rated.
I can say this cuz I am driving Dad's Jeep and have parked the P5 until I can get it fixed up and inspected!

Tony...hope things turn around for him.

that game isn't going to be pretty. I'm going to need booze.
i think it's going to be just a beautiful game!

nice to have dads with jeeps to help out their wonderful son with the modded p5....i had to borrow my moms caddy and my sons jeep a few times while doing work to my car...or should i say fixing work i had done to my car!

So I braved the elements and walked to Kroger's down the street to pick up some beer. Slipped only twice but damnit I didn't lose the beer!

So...its come to the point where he has no circulation from the waist down....My aunt has decided he has suffered enough and the docs say that even on the machine hes only going to last maybe another 24-36 hrs. So we are all going down to the hospital to say out good-byes, and be there for everyone when they shut the machine down.

Thanks for all of your prayers! It really means a lot to me and to my family.

Wow, sorry to hear it man! Thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

These are the kind of people that live down here in Atlanta.....

Morning all. We finally got the snow they predicted. About 7-8 inches so far. How's everyone else doing?

Looks like the weather will delay our departure for Canada by a day.

Mostly rain. Nothing but a huge slushy mess here. All the roads are clear but flooded in some spots.
