Well finally got around to doing the rear brakes on the Focus.

I hate DRUM BRAKES (gun)

Took a good part of the day but it's done. Also bled the entire system as the fluid had never been changed, almost black. Car has 123,000 miles and the rear brakes are the originals. Aside from some heat cracks, the pads were in not too bad a shape. Rear drums were fine.

After the rear lining change and a flush of the brake system, the brakes are much firmer and easier to modulate. They were getting spongy.

I feel like there's so much hype in hurricanes... No one really knows where it's going to be in 2 days.. so how can they really predict it to be a certain distance from a certain place with a certain wind speed? I don't know.. I guess after that "huge" snow storm that dropped a whopping 4" on me when Sean got 2' made me seriously doubt predicting major storms.

take it from me having a meteorology degree, we dont know what we are doing :D dont listen to us, its better that way. people always ask me what the weather is going to be like and I just say I have no idea.

Morning all. Cleaning, we have viewing for the house later today. Supposed to hit 98 in Nashua. When is winter coming??

Same here.

Feel free to hope on the new thread I started. We can do them all at the end of September if you two are free. I am doing my diff's, tranfer case and tranny fluids.

From what I found on the 4Runner forums it's pretty easy and straight forward, I just want to have some help the first time through it.

Morning everyone.

Bruce, bite your tongue.....going around here muttering the 'w' word......

Good Luck! I hope you guys are having a lot more luck up there with the market then my folks are down here. Over a year and they still haven't sold their other house.

All I have to do is think about the brutal cold the day we had the Foxboro meet (when Antoine was out) and I don't mind the heat so much.

Did 9 miles this morning at 15.7 mph...two loops behind my house...fastest time yet! Doing another 20+ miles tonight, and not sure what the pace'll be.

That was a cold day Ash....Mark and I swapped taillights prior to arriving at Foxboro....fun times

I'm crazy jealous of Josh right now...because he's going to be in the thick of the hurricane...

But seriously...stay safe! Right now they're forecasting sustained winds of 50-60 mph with gusts up to 90mph on the western portion of the cape. The "elbow" and Nantucket are looking at sustained winds of 60-70 mph with gusts up over 100mph.

Hey Guys!!

Everyone Be safe Tomorrow and Saturday morning, especailly if you live near the water like Josh.

was down on East Beach in RI today boarding up my Unlces house, sad part of the day was watching over half the beach get washed away and the storm is still over 1000 miles away. If you walked out on it which we did, you walked about 30 feet and then basically the beach dropped off 5-6 feet to the water, with 6-10 ft waves already.

the shop will not be opening on Monday but we will be open sometime during the week, all dependant on me having enough power to run everything, which currently i don't. and also how close this storm comes to us, if it comes closer. I'm sure ill have some damage to clean up and trees down, and maybe have no power at all.

been very very busy finishing up the car build and getting the shop in order.
(cool)(cool)

:)

Thanks guys. I've put all my outside stuff into the basement. Bought extra candles just in case. Food supply is stocked.

Tomorrow I'll head down to the beach.
